Thank you Primaliquid for explaining the truth about what the "infamous paid save slot" really does. Now I know this is just cosmetic. A lot of youtubers (even IGN) are spreading misinformation, everybody thinks it is, in fact, a save slot that is ruining your chances to have multiple playthroughs or even letting your brother play. Somebody should make a video about this, buying it and showing in a video that everything carries over. If, as a KZbinr, you make one you would making a great service against misinformation about this particular game. On my next payday, if you want, I'm willing to donate the 9.99 so you can do this at no cost (I'm no youtuber). I think the truth is that because nobody buys the extra characters nobody knows what they are in fact.

Oh yeah, I just found out a new trick from another player just now... when a frag nade lands near you, quickly face it and tap the melee button without readying your weapon and your character will do the leg sweep attack kicking the nade into the air in the direction your facing! Not sure if this works with Mortars nades since I only just found this trick out, nor did I get a chance to test it in the co-op match I was in before when I found this trick out in the lobby, and well either the Mortars would target me and have their nade land off the building I was on (airport map before you ask) or my team mates will kill them before they could even react... but hopefully this will work, as then we'd have a way to kick those pesky Mortar nades away from the Digger and into a hoard of Wanderes...

Yes it works on morters, you can also actually just shoot grenades/morter nades aswell. Dont have to actually kick them.

Yeah but kicking them makes it look more badass... plus I'd rather use ammo on the Wanderers instead of shooting what I could kick back ya know? Glad it works from the Mortars crystal like nades... gonna be sure to remember that one... also accordingly a running punch will allow you to do a backstab on Trackers and Mortars without them shaking you off... I can confirm it works on Trackers did it last night but have yet to see if I get the same outcome with Mortars yet.

Can't take a lot of ammo with you now... they hit the ammo pouches with the nerf hammer... yesterday I was able to take 60 more 12ga shells with me... today I can only take 20 with my 12ga ammo pouch... half I wouldn't of mind but 10 under half? I think that's a bit too much really...

Yeah... but I just wish the reduction wasn't so harsh... besides I never take ammo for my guns into a match, I just make sure I'm the one who gets first use of the Ammo table while making do with my one handed melee weapon and my bow XD! But still... I would of liked it if they would of just cut the shotgun one down by half not 10 under half... BTW what shotgun along with the ammo pouches was allowing one to hold that many shells before this nerfing of ammo pouches?

Kinda, now you need a D rank and the amount you get on easy has been nerfed to hell but the amount you get on hard has been boosted. and so i suggest doing D rank runs on Hard missions now.

i mean you just stab a few mobs to collect 5k kuban before the match starts and build simple wooden fences in the lanes to slow them down while you boost the digger. Also it doesnt matter if they hit the digger a few times

First off, Ignore reviews for this game. The Kojima fanboys are out in force and and just completely ruining everything, in terms of the game its amazing. Very realistic in terms of hunger and thirst aswell as a great gather/hunter setting along with all the customization, the gameplay is a step up from MGS5 (We actually have proper CQC) and unlike MGS5 theres actually a story here and its complete. Story doesnt really compare to MGS1/2/3 because of its length however its still very good and considering the game is only half the price of a full retail game its more than worth the money. So far ive put about 40-50 hours into the game and still have so much left to do. and this doesnt even take into account multiplayer. In terms of microtransactions again ignore the fucktards its the exact same as MGS5, you can ether buy them or get them every so often as daily log in bonuses however this game does it alot better because MGS5 had the FoBs locked behind them witch were a major part of MGS5, here however its used for exploration terms (Can kinda be ignored if you play online) and a few speedups. You get 1 character for free and then again needs coins for 2/3/4 characters however with the way the game is theres absolutely no reason to ever get a second character. All in all i would more than happily pay full retail for this game and the fact its only half that is a steal, get the game when you can you wont regret it.

clint bertulfo I hated the idea when they first announced it, after playing the beta I noticed the game was actually fun, I bought it, Im enjoying the game a lot. If you dont like survival games, then this will feel a bit grindy and has a lot of item management , if you like those types of games then you will have a blast. Multiplayer is very fun.

Tip #6: Don't buy this game brand new, buy second hand at Gamestop, EB games, etc. you'll only need to pay $15-20 instead of $40. Also you can re sell it as well.

My best advice is to continue with the game. at the start its very punishing but the further along you get, the more base recipes you get which greatly help. Infact in postgame you dont even need to worry about food because of farms. Although i will be making a video for food/water for those who still have yet to complete the game soon.

I had this Game in my PS4 library from day one and after being influenced into thinking it was no good; I set it aside in my mind and put off playing it: On 13th June I loaded it up then as soon as I saw the Logo; I got a trophy and turned it off as I wasnt feeling up to it: That was until I began seriously playing it from the middle of July then the beginning of August: I think its now become an actual brilliant game; and I am not really into survivalist games; but this is the ticket: NOW My heads melted with it: Its so hard to understand at the minute that I am here looking for tips: So far I have 12 of the 52 Trophies; but need to understand the whole game in its entirety or as close as possible: Ironically enough I am Defending 3 waves for Iris Energy at the moment with orders to use the Wormhole Digger: I expect this game to turn into something that has its own franchise despite what the nay sayers have been attempting to do: I just got a Bow and Flame Arrows: So I am slowly learning: The game shows no mercy when you run out of oxygen with no revival pills left: I like the Lost Box option though: I am looking for genuine tips on Farming anything / materials and crafting thats useful and also locations of "animals"

The game is harder earlier on than it is later, once you start building your base up and have access to farms food and water become a non issue. I dont reccemend using revival pills for when you run out of O2 though. Just need to plan abit better and slowly work on completeing your map

Yes its online only. If you cant connect to the server you cant play. And if your connection drops it instantly kicks you out.

You dont have to nor do you need to. everything can be done on 1 character, and besides creating a new character doesnt give you a new save. You still have everything in base camp and all your materials. All your progress is the same aswell. The only thing an extra character does is let you have a different appearance. And besides just like MGS5 you can get SV coins from the daily log in meaning you dont have to pay a penny.

Ghost1170 Why? Because it's a good survival spin-off of the Metal Gear series and I enjoy playing it, that's why. Kinda like how Reveangance was a good hack and slash spin-off of the Metal Gear series. How was the beta better? We literally got the beta in the base game plus some more maps and a harder difficulty. Apparantly they're adding an additional difficulty mode as well in the near future and I wouldn't put it past the ppl who worked on this game (Who are not the Konami execs btw) to add more content down the line.

I haven't played the released game, but in the beta, you also never had to worry about food OR water, which really didn't show the flaw or issue that people later ran into. The beta was a misinterpretation of the singleplayer for sure, but as for multiplayer, the game was a good turn your brain off kind of fun. Lol, na bro. Konami execs are the kind to want to add more to this game so they can nickle and dime you harder. You can even tell the developers hated or didn't want to make this kind of game in their subtle hints and notes they added into the game. Look up Yong Yei, I might have spelled his last name wrong, but it's a video that explains the developers feelings on the game and how much they hated konami for it. EDIT: Also, MG: Revengence is a way better game than this, despite being a different genre entirely.

Sorry dude but objectively this game is terrible, sloppy and altogether a quick cash grab by Konami. Im sorry that being a fanboy for them has blinded you to the truth but this is sleazy, grimy and something you'd find from a shitty asset flipper on steam. I just feel bad that you can't or won't take off those rose tinted glasses to see what garbage this is.

haha no im well aware its a cash grab. HOWEVER that does not mean its not a good game. Story wise its far better than the mess that was MGS5 and in terms of gameplay its the same as MGS5 except the CQC is vastly improved.

No big boss its not on konami. Kojima had 5 years and an 80 million (Yes 80 MILLION) budget. Konami made a smart business move because thats what it is. A business. Kojima had fuck all to show for so much money invested and so much time. Big open maps that are completely empty and a half written story that was completely terrible and paced even worse. Dont get me wrong im not defending Konami here, they have done some pretty shady shit in the past however firing kojima was a simple business decision, how they went about it was all wrong though and now they are suffering that. But kojima ant no saint ether.

Sorry but i have to disagree with the story, Its both a sequel and a prequel to already existing games in the series meaning it should stick to the lore which MGS5 failed miserably at (Kojima retcons the story every game he makes) and while yes i agree kojima is incredible at what he does but he dropped the bucket with MGS5. It completely lacked compared to earlier entrys in the series but thats what we get when kojima didnt even want to make MGS5. so he half assed it.

This also isnt the first game kojima hasnt been involved in but guess what? nobody went ape shit over those other ones. Plus hating on this game is good for views so of course there going to make videos hating on because views = money. Now lets put you in your place. Buy a save slot? No, not at all you dont need more than 1 character in this game why you would even want a second is beyond me. If you want to start all over then you can just delete your character and start again. Or like MGS5 you can just get SV coins for the daily bonuses and get the extra slots that way. Meaning you dont have to spend a penny. Made by a trash company? maybe you dont realise but kojima didnt make metal gear on his own. He had a team called kojima productions and guess what? they all still work for konami and made this game what your doing is hating on the team who brought you every other metal gear because of the NEW CEO and you know something? he couldnt give 2 shits what you think. hes more than happy to sack the old KP guys and just stick to pachinko. This is also not the first game kojima hasnt worked on. The big channels covering this game have the worst content. All of their issues with the game are barely sufficient to throw it into the trash, and it's only getting so much flak because of the drama around Konami. As far as these generic survival games go, Survive is just another needle in a needlestack, it's just that you don't see everyone else bitching about all the other games of the same genre. I love Kojima as much as the next Metal Gear fan, but i can't stand people finding a minor flaw in the game and exacerbating it based on internal drama that has no bearing on game mechanics or how it flows. Oh, MGO2 made you pay for additional characters iirc. Wheres the bitching about that?
