So basically: - The "survival" elements boil down to annoying timers that you need to constantly babysit. - The game doesn't provide adequate resources and gates off common sense solutions to getting those resources for no reason. - Combat is samey and tedious, and can be easily cheesed by exploiting dumb AI. Awesome, you were right - thanks to this video, I now know all I need to know about this game.

Partially for the attention, but also because this is VERY clearly built out of MGSV's engine. It draws heavily on that game's mechanics (although it makes some really bad decisions about what to do with them)

It’s a completely uninspired, grind-heavy, game that’s practically an asset flip of MGSV. Zombies, horde mode, and boilerplate survival elements... Survive reads like checklist of “What’s hot right now?” from the past decade. I’m sure the next Metal Gear game will be a similar half-hearted stab at a Battle Royale. And much like Survive, it’ll be a $10-$15 DLC mode sold as a complete $40 game.
