@@thebooger_boy4002 Converge is that early metalcore stuff. I think now that the dust has settled a bit they belong in post-hardcore more than metalcore. I enjoyed Bleeding Through and Unearth a lot back in the day, if you like Killswitch maybe try Shadows Fall (tho they are not that core), As I Lay Dying (a staple of metalcore), and..God Forbid, maybe. Another small metalcore band I really liked was Winter Solstice. Their breakdowns were fun and I liked the guitar tone.

Dude.... Kiss isn't Glam Metal, and Whitesnake was pretty much Hard Rock and Rhythm & Blues for the first 6 albums, after that they went full Glam Metal. But you should definatly check out the earlier albums of the band, i think you would like it. Great video btw

Quest for Metal it more depends on the artist if they do their genre well. I consider Tool to be an industrial band but they are the best industrial band. Glam was my gateway to heavier bands. My three favorite bands in any genre are Judas Priest Opeth and Mercyful Fate/King Diamond.

New Metal is what got me into Metal. Now I'm more into Thrash, Death and classic Heavy Metal. Still, some of these bands have a special place in my heart, even if I don't listen to them anymore. One album that will always be very important to me is Linking Park's Hybrid Theory. I love this record, and I think it has one of the most iconic covers when it comes to New Metal.

I tend to like the mid-2000's melodic metalcore and post-hardcore type stuff most, though. Traditional/Classic Metal - I mean, it started the whole metal genre, so it's just awesome. Progressive Metal - I love the diversity it has and the amount of interesting and experimental music. Other subgenres, sort of in order but it's not definite: Melodic Death Metal - Used to be my favorite. Grown off me a bit, but I still enjoy it. Power Metal - Lots of bands I love, just one of the ones that's harder for me to get into certain bands. Deathcore - I've come to appreciate deathcore a lot more in recent years. There are some solid bands. Doom Metal - This one is pretty hit or miss, but when it's a hit then I absolutely adore it. Death Metal - Also grown off me a little. I more enjoy elements of death metal mixed with other genres, but it's also good on its own. Industrial Metal - Not one I listen to much of, but I enjoy it. Thrash Metal - Never been a massive fan of thrash, but I think some is pretty good. Like death metal, I prefer it mixed with another style. Nu Metal - I like a little bit but I never really got into it. Grindcore - Same as thrash. Folk Metal - I do enjoy some, and I like elements of it in other subgenres, but on its own I don't really like it at all.

@@lambsauce9404 I'm really not super familiar with it, or at least not enough to really recommend anything. If you like death metal or black metal then you might enjoy Anaal Nathrakh. They combine black metal, death metal, grindcore, and some industrial elements all together in their sound. They're probably the only thing I can recommend since I'm not into much regular grindcore, more so when it's combined with other genres.

NWOBHM, Doom/Stoner Metal, Technical Thrash, Traditional Thrash Metal, Technical Death Metal and Old School Death Metal are my all time favorite subgenres of Metal. My least favorite subgenre of Metal are Glam, Industrial, Numetal and all the core subgenres except grindcore. Thrash Metal has really underrated bands like Target and Deathwish. Check out Target and Deathwish they need more recognition compared to all the big bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Sodom, Testament and etc.

@@Questformetal I mean, they are? But also not really - I think 'classic rock' has just became a blanket term for anything older than 15-20 years, and sometimes even that definition doesn't match. Like some were calling Nirvana classic rock back in like '94, something Kurt Cobain detested. For me, classic rock best describes the sound of rock & roll from the late 60's until about the mid-70's (Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, CCR, Aerosmith). From there on you start to see subgenres begin to splinter off and take form.

Huge Rammstein fan I can see what I got for you. try Godflesh their a bit more mechanical and machine like. Even more so is Author and Punisher is a one man band that uses old tec and equipment like mask to make sounds and music. If you like Rammstein check out Ruoska Gevolt. Hanzel Und Gretyl is a bit heaver later albums became a bit more death metal but last album Hexennacht is a banger bringing the industrial elements. A.M.G.O.D. by ...and Oceans, Knorkaor is a bit more comedy based Pitchshifter's albums Industrial and Submit are a bit more like Godflesh. Eisheilig is a bit more like a gothic Rammstein but has some good stuff. Richthofen is pretty raw Weissglut is also pretty good. underrated german bands. Turmion Katilot first 3 albums are really good. Warm Gadget is pretty new and underrated. You might like Prongs albums Cleansing and Rude Awakening, other then those two albums their a lot more thrash then industrial though.

I love most metal genres. Im always torn between traditional heavy metal, black metal, death metal and progressive metal. Im just getting into more doom metal thanks to you! I don't like glam metal at all because it's too poppy and I started listening to metal to get away from pop. I also don't like metalcore as I don't think extream metal and punk go well together but that's just me. And I don't like grindcore either. Too chaotic for my liking, no rhythm, no melody, it's just noise! Grindcore is what people who don't like metal think all metal sounds like! And Nu metal for obvious reasons.

Burned offerings album Is among the best) Helloween ( early stuff is best, but despite some lacklustre albums, great throughout) Gamma Ray ( land of the free album,and power plant are good starts) Some well known generic and imo uninspiring ones: Hammerfall Stratovarius Sonata ártica Dragonforce (this one can have interesting pieces, but really samey generally) Among others that are just cookie cutter versions of those above mentioned
