Don't forget Sunburn, Muscle Museum, Uno, Fillip (probably the most dynamic), Hate This and I'll Love You...alright, the album's just pretty perfect

Origin of symmetry blows showbiz out of the water. Showbiz is amazing and got me into muse but my god origin of symmetry blows my mind every time I hear it. The talent on display is incredible in that album in particular

Showbiz is still my favorite, lol. Though I've listened to the whole album of Origin Of Symmetry. I just love the message of the song Showbiz, it's the song that made the whole album real good. But sike, Origin Of Symmetry is pretty god like too.

Matt uses blues notes a lot (off scale notes) in his writing. It is one of my favorite things in his guitar style. And Chris is one of my fav rock bass players, easily. Dom is just fabulous as a drummer.

This is basically my second favourite Muse song. Every little thing, from the "heartbeat" as you noted in the beginning, to the very gloomy chord progression, the very personal lyrics about being forced to control one's own feelings for too long and then explosively not being able to handle that anymore, the desperate solo and melody, the extremely high ending, even the distortion throughout the whole song, the heartbeat that comes back in the end...make this, in my opinion, their most raw and emotional track. It's a buildup of pent up emotions and an explosion of uncontrollable feelings. So glad you liked it and and that you keep checking out their songs because they really deserve the love. Lately i've noticed people's conception of Muse is not representative of what they truly do so i'm always happy to recommend to new listeners their best tracks. I can't wait for you to check out The Globalist.

Thanks for analyzing this song! It's one of my favorite ones. It's true that it starts low but it has fury. And there is a video of them playing this song in their early years that is a treasure. Matt Bellamy throws his guitar to the sea and destroys even the battery... I love it.
@chrismartin26633 жыл бұрын
This is one of those times where I feel like Matt is singing/screaming what would be a lead guitar part on most other bands. Great way to end my fav song on the album. Also I have fond memories of this from the first time I saw them play this live, Glastonbury 2000, before they were headline material, this closed their set and ended with a comical attempt at destruction if the drum kit. Good times. Anyway, glad you liked it.

I’ve subscribed just to see this slow journey through Muse songs haha. “Muscle museum” if you want to see what his voice does, a lot of people have to do double takes. Just remember during the last minute it is still his voice. Edit: I’d also recommend after listening to these songs, even not as a reaction I would watch them live. They have a real stage presence whether in a stadium of 70k+ or a small audience of a thousand.

I really love your technical insights on these songs. I'm not a musician myself and most of it flies over my head, but I find it fascinating nonetheless, and makes me appreciate your reactions more because I know this is a guy who knows what he's talking about. You know quality and good song writing when you hear it. So that feels especially genuine to me. It's also great to hear any criticisms you might have, I hope you don't feel pressured to shy away from saying anything negative if you don't like something that gets suggested. We Muse fans are a rabid bunch, but we won't bite, honest! ;)

Not at all, most of the time I don’t have too many negatives to say, and if I did I wouldn’t be putting the reactions up because that doesn’t do me or the viewer any good. Been thoroughly enjoying Muse!

You know which channel I think is super underrated?? Metal Piano Music. The guy spends weeks composing classic metal songs into classical/relaxing piano pieces and he hardly gets any views. I love his arrangement of The Sentinel by Judas Priest. That guy really deserves support 👏

Here in Mexico they had 2 concerts on their last Simulation Theory tour. I went to both concerts but one of the concerts was dedicated to the Musers (fans). Normally they don't play Showbiz at their concerts, it's very rare, but as all the fans we asked them to play it(by social media), at that concert they played that song. We were all crying with emotion and especially because Matt told us before playing it that they had heard our request. It was super epic. Check Hullabaloo, you will love. And also check playing live, they are the best. Greetings from Mexico!

Another songs on this album believe it was a single? if not was a like a fan favourite album track 'Cave' is a great listen, puts so much emotion behind the music. I always thought of showbiz (the song), that the drums sound like the Jumanji drums, like your entering the wild-side of your psyche kind of thing. But the main takeaway I got from the first album was the songs were so dramatic, emotional, and had a huge sound to them. Muse have always been good at building tensions within their songs and when you hit that peak your always rewarded whether it be with soaring crescendos, and blissful pianos or slamming down to earth with a solid heavy/'sharp' beat/solo. Great Dynamics. But they are an amazing band you should check out whether for the channel or personally some of their B-sides for some bands it's better than their A-sides.

i know you're inundated with muse recs, but an odd one i have to shoutout is eternally missed. it's the b-side to hysteria. matt said during the making of absolution that, at the time, they thought it was the best song they had, but during the album process that status changed. but it's a classic for me, one of their most bizarre/obscure in my opinion!

@mss112353 жыл бұрын
At the very least relative pitch. Unless, he's cheating with a tuner beside himself, browsing charts/tabs as he listens, or something like that, I would guess that, yeah he has perfect pitch. I mean he nailed the low acoustic F# note. Otherwise, I really enjoy how this guy picks out intervallic and scalar choices pretty spot on often. Actually, let me check out his Knights vid to see if he nails the circular modulations by major thirds during the verse parts. Lol
