I think at this point, Tim has ascended past the point of being a pure guitarist. He’s a true composer that’s got his art down to a T. He’s not just playing music, he’s playing art. Notice how even in cover songs such as the Umbrella song and the Ariana Grande pop cover, he didn’t just play the melody or the chorus, he blended the percussive elements and the lyrical voicing as well as added his own sound that is unique to Tim Henson only. And I think that’s what makes his playing so alluring and even addicting at times.

Absolutely. I feel like he's the best of Ichika and MGF...he brings that melodic oomph of ichika, with the flex of MGF. Henson is top tier right now for sure. I love MGF, feel like he gets carried away with the flexing and muted strums, just a bit much for my taste. Hes a monster nonetheless.

@@BassMatt1972 difficult also doesn't mean its just exercises. Ya don't gotta love his style, but to say its not good is just disrespectful and usually close minded. I don't know what styles you like so I can't say anything about you specifically, but most of the people I see dishing on Henson's playing (or the other guys mentioned on this comment thread 1.) haven't listened to a lot of their stuff to see how they've matured, and 2.) are into the oldies or slower blues stuff, and use the outdated 'playing with feel' argument to try and talk down on this playing.

That end makes me happy. Only because I got into guitar with mostly core stuff. Going to shows, playing in bands, carting around my heavily used 5150 stack. To be honest, if you look at guitarists like TheDooo who live listens to a song and instantly turns it into a technically improved version it’s just him knowing the cords that he always plays and how to arrange them it’s the same with tim, i would assume tim doesn’t have to practice overly long when by ear he knows where his fingers want to go. Just a hunch. If you’re familiar with how tim writes his riffs first making it out as if it was a beat in software, that’s probably where most of his time goes then once it sounds good in software he instantly lays it out on guitar.

Accoustic Fingerstily Guitarrists are a force to be reckoned with. How did Andy McKee called his style? Wood Rock and I think this is exacly what it is: complex, melodic and enjoyable, but also very difficult.

Tim has tutorials for his songs on the KZbin.. be fun to watch you try and learn one of them. "In the Cut" he says is one of his "easier" things he made
@williamturner9450

Honestly thinking through his postings, it probably is. His 'Real' feature is awesome, but the hardest part is getting used to the thumping technique (as someone who hadn't done it before). Blood Moon and Shred Collab III are ungodly difficult though. In the Cut is chill and vibey, mainly cuz he's flowing with the rapper so much.
