Yeeee, I cant stand it that people think the Norse had horned helmets too!
@braydenherum22234 жыл бұрын
@Sam Bowling Alley Yes, Odin is often depicted with horns, but no archaeological evidence supporting horned helmets have been found, with the exception of the Veksø helmets which were only used for ceremonies and were long before the Viking Age. Horned helmets are also not mentioned in the Icelandic Sagas. Besides, wearing horns on a helmet into battle is quite impractical, since you're then easy to pull down to the ground. Maybe you should do some research before you challenge someone at a topic that you dont know about.

Two things, next time try Wheat Paste instead of white glue and instead of shaving wood down, if you rip newsprint and brown paper bags, alternate the layers, and save the white glue for the inner and outer coat, you will get an excellent product. We make helm, hats and masks this way in theatre. Drillable, sandable and Paintable.

+Adam Lindsay Thanks Adam for the tip, I know that trick, when I was in primary school we used to make art sculptures from wc paper and glue with water, but in this video I wanted to show to myself and you bros that it is possible to make it only from wood :) but I definitely recommend using toilet paper if you decide to make one ;) Have a nice day Moris

This, the only thing that I didn't even wondered to do in wood, can indeed be done... Allfather be praise, what a time to be alive! I can now make my very own viking helmet! For Honor's warlord cosplay, here I come! Anyway, an advice of someone that has already tried to make a chainmail, and almost made it through, you better avoid that kind of rings for the chainmail, they can be torn appart with no effort at all, because thy are not ribbeted together. I learned it the hard and sad way. And, I will finish my messer as soon as i have a free weekend.
@EpicWorkshop7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Bro :) Yeah go for it :) I know but to make 970 ( I think) of these rings is a "PAIN IN THE ASS" hahahahah If I was riveting each one of them this video would come on internet in MMLXXXVI AD :P But for my need they work amazing :) I closed them really good ;) Have an epic day :) ~M~

The only historical inaccuracies I see 1-made our of wood mache(obviously) 2-the chainmail would be riveted together instead of butted(but that’s ok, riveting is a tedious process)
@EpicWorkshop6 жыл бұрын
The first one hahahaha Historically there was also butted chainmail 😉 riveted one was fancy one 😍

Historically there pretty much was no butted mail, riveted mail was all there was, and it was a lot better than what most people think -butted mail for costumes -riveted for history and actual armor
@EpicWorkshop6 жыл бұрын
Japenese used butted chainmail 😉 but yeah today is used for costumes to save a lot of money

Although being honest, butted mail can’t stop shit, you can cut right through it, riveted on the other hand stops nearly anything from the medieval period.

I tested mine on myself, i tried to cut myself with a kitchen chef knife and It didn't cut me so for light cuts and whack it will save you big time, but if someone whacks you with the dane axe you can fuck yourself and each one of them butted/riveted/stamped/flattened/welded... rings 😊
