I keep a good mix of both, pmags are great but I'm really liking Okays Surefeed mags(aluminum). I keep thinking how long will the polymer mags last before they get brittle.?

Metal mags is more something of the past. the new generation mags for AR's are polymer. The polymer Mags are more reliable and stronger because on impact the bend, and come back to original shape. Metal mags once they bend, is over. Metal mags if not Stainless , will rust. Metal mags can literally explote and fall apart if you drop them too hard fully loaded, that's not the case with polymer. Polymer mags are also better sealed against environment elements. The US Marines are now using only Magpul Gen 3 polymer mags.

Causes than them uses Pmags might be trivial and might rests far from reliability - weight and price. Metal mags better, but polymers are cheaper alot and lighter...

Aluminum doesn’t rust.

And aluminum mags are are just as light if not lighter than polymer. If they’re heavier, it’s utterly negligible. I like the metal mags because the feed lips make loading them much easier than the polymer mags. There is just a super easy, positive snap into place of the round that I don’t get with the polymer.

I'm a metal man all the way. Just bought 6 more mental mags from Okay Industries as I just heard they are selling off their equipment etc.. They have been making mags for the military since WW 2. Sad!! I do have have some polymer mags, but they are not my go to.
