Quick Tip: Using a tilt verses an anti-tilt follower in your AR-15 magazine.

I only use anti tilt followers the GI followers were causing feeding jams. I switched to anti tilt and 1,000 rounds later not a single problem.

The long leg of the follower is the front and the short leg is the back all 9 I'm looking at on my desk right now. I have a couple of old black followers here too, and they don't have a front leg at all.The inch long front leg they added onto the front of the green followers was supposed to make them anti-tilt. There's no mechanism in the rifle that can push straight down on the front of the rounds, like you pressed down on the follower. But I replaced all mine with Magpul followers anyway. I kept the stock blue followers in my OKAY Industries SureFeed E2 mags since they're probably even better than Magpuls.

Do the 20 round mags from Brownells come with an anti tilt? The one I got doesn't have one, didn't know if it was necessary to have an anti tilt on a 20 rounder or not. Any help would be appreciated

20 rounds magazines do not use anti-tilt followers. Anti-tilt followers were developed for 30 round magazines.

There is no need to as the 20 round magazine is straight with nothing to snag on internally

Magpul anti tilt followers do not go the whole way up in my GI mags and fail to hold the bolt open on the last round about 80% of the time.....

I can't say that's been my experience; have your tried your mags in multiple rifles?

They have to be the magpul followers made specifically for GI mags otherwise they will not function correctly

My 2 year old Brownells 30 rounders do not hold open on my Colt. Magpul mags do.
