"Push my fingers into my eyes it's the only thing that slowly stops the ache." Corey Taylor suffered chronic migraines and that's what he's referring to. So you got it pretty much spot on.

I do the same sometimes with my migraines when I can't take pain anymore. It's like in your desperation to free yourself from the pain, you get to a point that anything, even hurting yourself enough to maybe, maybe distract you from the hell you're living is worth trying.

Holy shit bro. I'm so glad you're diving into metal. I grew up a metalhead and didn't get into rap until I was older and that is what caused me to find your channel. Your lyrical breakdowns for rap are unparalleled and I can't wait to see what you can do for metal lyrics. The lyricism of some metal bands is absolutely incredible, very open to interpretation, and often poetic sometimes. You are in for a wonderful journey if you stick to it. Can't wait to see where this takes you. Much love.

Your interpretation of the lyrics is absolutely brilliant. I've always thought it was exactly what you first said, that he can't stand to look at the world, but with "it's made of all the things I have to take," it makes so much more sense that it's about stress, anxiety, and life in general. I think even the "you cannot kill what you did not create" line plays well into this: you can't stop the "ache" because you are not the source of it, life is. No matter how hard you try, there's nothing you, as an individual, can do to stop it. Love these videos, great job man.

The thing I love about metal is the depth to the lyrics, the music and vocals usually expresses the emotions of the song. A lot of the lyrics are written in a way that different people will find a different meaning for the same song. For me duality is chaos and order. The insanity is the fact that what some see as chaos is seen as order by others and vice versa. Emotions and thought are the prime example for my chaos and order theory.

Havent watched in a few years. Glad to see you are opening up to the depth of what rock and metal offers. People write it off as angry screaming. Its so much more.

What i enjoy about these sort of metal react videos is you can tell when someone is a music lover who can appreciate every sort of genre wether they like it or not and the ones who sort of gravitate to a standard sort of chart music base, which in its self is acceptable as well

The thing is this . Music is a safe place to go, relatable an expression of self through someone elses voice...Not specific to rock but music in general if you're having a bad day pop in your favorite artist and suddenly your day isn't so bad...

rap fans discovering metal is one of my favorite things. So many people have this preconception that metal is all just mindless, angry, meaningless, violent... And some of it is, but there's a reason for that anger, and it's things that most people CAN relate to, if they just listen. And because rap is all about the words, rap fans DO listen, and appreciate the rhythm even in very heavy songs where there isn't a lot of melody or traditional "musicality". I love that moment when it clicks and someone goes "I get it now, this is why metal fans like this music."

So many can relate. They are or have gone thru this internal struggle. This pain, hurt and when you want to let it out, Metal is a fantastic release of getting it out of your system for the moment and also knowing your not alone in the struggle.

Thanks for Metal Mondays, I love your reactions & I love metal, so I’m very over the moon for Mondays now (never thought Mondays would be something to look forward to)! Metal is a release and an escape for a lot of people. I hope you fall in love with metal and maybe one day incorporate it with rapping in one of your tracks that would be unbelievably awesome! 🤘

Solitaire/unraveling or 12 Hundred by Mushroomhead. There's 2 singers in the band and both songs have a different line up for the vocals. First song you might appreciate as a rapper, second song is deeper in meaning and probably a more talented singer overall. No bad choice between the 2 songs

oh man, when I found your channel and saw the way you get really into the lyrics of a song I immediately went to check if you'd reacted to any Slipknot songs, 'cause they have amazing lyrics that people often completely miss out on you seem like the kind of guy who'd _really_ enjoy such lines as "packaging subversion, pseudo-sacrosanct perversion" or "no-one else can see the preservation of the martyr in me" (from Psychosocial)

I like the acoustic version of this song; The video is also powerful as he controls the destruction of the crowed just with the power of his presence.
