@@lDeskFTW I don't think they level up, at least for me. Every time I hear a Jinjer song it's their best song for me. I have never had that with a group before. I can go and listen to "Pisces" right now and it is the best song, same with "Teacher, Teacher"... same with "I speak astronomy" and I have been trying to explain it to myself. The only thing I can come up with is that there is so much good stuff going on that at any point in any song I can be amazed. It's a very weird band.

Tatiana said in an interview that this album is a road map to understanding Tati. Even the band didn't know some things she felt. There's a direct correlation to the pressure she feels for procrastinating lyric writing for the album to the last second. Her bandmates pursue her, pressure her. The bullets (sharp words) at them do nothing, but then she throws "her art" (metaphor for the lyrics they want) at them and they go away. The wolf story (below) is critical to understanding her internal conflicts as displayed by the wolf art. Thank you, Tati, for giving us a glimpse into your world. From a Tennessee Cherokee...Keep feeding the White Wolf. White Wolf, Black Wolf: A Cherokee Story Inside you lives a wolf of white- of patience, peace and love. He is forgiveness, hope and light; a blessing from above. This wolf of white the world will see through all the good he brings to thee. _____This wolf of white, _____this wolf of white, his gifts will set your spirit free. A wolf of black, as dark as night lives next to him inside. He’s hatred, rage, cruelty, fright, intolerance and pride. This wolf of black the world will see through evil actions, evil deeds. _____This wolf of black, _____this wolf of black, his teeth will make your spirit bleed. Within your soul, the two wolves fight to see which one will give directions and will win the right to show you how to live. Which one will win the fight? We need to pay attention; pay close heed! _____Which one will win? _____Which one will win depends upon which one we feed.

She also said "something bad happened to her" which turned her into an introvert, this song is also about escaping past trauma. Also, they are from Ukraine, she has no home to go to, as an introvert that's extremely draining "my batteries are low" they have been constantly on the move. Tired of seeing people say this is purely about the band hounding her down to finish the songs when it's much deeper than that, makes the rest of the band look bad.

Great reaction, Nik. I was never a big fan of metal music, especially with scream/growl harsh vocals, but I discovered Jinjer and another female-fronted metalcore band, Spiritbox, 4-5 months ago and I've become obsessed with both bands due to their fantastic songwriting and musicianship and the incredible vocals of Tatiana and Courtney from Spiritbox, with both of them having the insane ability to instantly transition back and forth from beautiful clean vocals to some of the best harsh vocals I've heard (but I do admit that I'm still not a huge fan of their songs which predominantly have harsh vocals).

@@a3842-j3o Hah, that's funny. There is something distinctive and "magnetic" about Jinjer and Spiritbox that I can't fully explain, but I think it's mostly the combination of their sophisticated, interesting songwriting and the awesome vocals of Tatiana and Courtney. I saw Jinjer live at the House of Blues in Boston this past November and they sounded great, but from where I was standing, about 30' from the stage, it was too loud IMO and sounded distorted (which is strange because I usually like loud music, but I think it's due to the abuse to my ears from playing in loud rock bands for decades. 😆)

Intoverts unite! ..separately! ..in our own homes! 🔥I already love Wallflower! I love the beautiful way it starts, and I know I'd still love it if was all clean singing, but I'll admit I was hoping for a turn, unsure if it would come, knew it probably would, and loved when it did! Wallflower hits me hard as a depressed introvert (always antisocial, always antifascist!), but more generally, Jinjer helps me vent heavy thoughts and I think more people are being drawn to music like this because we're living in dark times - not just the pandemic, but the looming climate collapse that is underway caused by the narrow minded greed of the ruling class of capitalism (which also causes all wars today) which Tatiana has written about in many ways in so many songs. Great reaction! Thank you, Nik, for bringing the fantastic music of Jinjer to more people! ❤🖤🤘

Nice. Injecting extreme politics where they don't belong and aren't welcome, in order to make the artist's expression of themselves all about your own radical beliefs. Cringe.
@MLuxemburg
@MLuxemburg 3 жыл бұрын
Pretending bands aren't talking about political issues in their lyrics is much more cringe. Why is the outside world a "sick, sick world" as Tatiana says in this song? She answers that question in many other songs (about greed and narrow mindedness, etc), but I'll point to Dip A Sail where she says, "Your boat is called Apocalypse... Your ship is called Capitalism".
