Being a music lover and record collector in Australia is getting really tough. And shipping prices are outrageous, i used to get albums shipped from Germany really cheap a few years ago, now shipping often costs more than the album. Those albums can sit there forever at that price as far as im concerned. I go to 1 or 2 record fairs a year and look online (because my local stores suck balls) and im lucky if i buy 4 albums a year now, just ridiculous prices. Like everything these things move in cycles and greed and fear are at play, im patient ill wait for the hype to drop and the cycle to swing then ill start buying again.

Some sellers really just cart around their vinyl at inflated prices and hope somebody who doesn't use the internet bites eventually. As for teutonic thrash the Kreator album is solid but for me the early work of Sodom is magical, probably biased to the first wave black metal roots in Obsessed by Cruelty and In the Sign of Evil, the thrash in their music came through a lot more the years after - just recently got Persecution Mania on CD finally. Oh and random recommendation from this year in case you feel like it: Flight - Echoes Of Journeys Past! Mix of heavy metal and hard rock with a lush sound to it, def stumbled upon it by surprise checking the webstore of dying victims productions.

The strategy of setting prices as high as possible is dumb. Doesn't it make more sense to sell a few decently priced records and have happy customers then sell nothing and insult your customers intelligence? You can have as many cool ass over priced records as you want but at a certain point your just holding them hostage and making no money.
