When there are Mainstream companies like ubisoft, naughty dog, insomniac, activtion blizzard, 2K, disney/marvel, Warner bros etc. All selling their Soul to Blackrock (ESG scores), it's nice to see some indie Companies like you still delivering some short fun with complete creative freedom & non-agendas. Just making Games for the sake of it. Keep it up, I'm sharp for Metal Slug Tactics!

Seems so convoluted, I remember playing the first metal slug at the arcade in the mid 90s, I never thought it needed to be a turn based game. Just need a game as good as 2-x-3 were with music as good as 4

Metal Slugs is my favorite arcade series from childhood. They always cost a dollar for 3 lives while all the other games were 25cents to 50cents for the popular ones. Despite its high price it always had kids dropping all their money and crowd’s watching. It was just too pretty to look away. Then in highschool the pizza place by my school had MS X and a few other games on the MVS. Needless to say I have been very hyped for this because tactical RPGs are another favorite of mine. I thought it was cancelled for the longest. Day 1 digital, and again physical!

Three bits from me: 1. Fio looking absolutely shredded in her new art. 2. There is clearly space in the base screen and on the squad menu for more characters. Ralf & Clark for sure (the weight training machine and lifting mat area for them). I see bananas and a gun on the ground, so Utan. Maybe Trevor, Nadia, and Leona as well? 3. Looks like variations on characters will exist too. On the base screen when they highlight Fio and Marco you see a listing for "Fio Classic" and "Marco Classic" above abilities. Maybe they get different appearances that give different abilities too?

As soon as they said "rogue lite" I checked out. This is why Final Fantasy tactics and the fire emblem series are gems in the world of Tactical RPG's. They have a set vision and story and believe it will give you the best experience. Such a shame.

@@ChicCanyon I mean I _like_ SRPGs, I love Disgaea and I really enjoyed my time with Wargroove but... I _was_ expecting this would be more *like* Wargroove where you have a more fleshed out, human-made campaign and _then_ you can do random "arcade" runs as a side mode.

Yeah a big factor of what i think makes the tactics genre work is thoughtfully crafted maps. In a roguelike you'll just get randomized enemies/placements with high stats. Itll be about resource management and attrition. Thats not particularly interesting for me. As an optional mode i could see some value. As like post game content after a strong single player campaign But if wishes were fishes the world would be an ocean and all that

There's radio chatter between missions (which you can completely skip/ignore) and occasionally following a run there's a vignette of two or more characters chatting (for example, Marco+Tarma discussing sleepwalking habits and the somewhat understandable fear of being knifed by someone having an episode.)

Not sure what to think about this game, but it seems to have a strong vision. Usually a strategy game gives you a decent sized team, but it makes sense for Metal Slug to have less. Still hard to understand how everything will play out.
