I've always thought Aborted deserves a lot of the credit that Cattle Decap gets it's the deathgrind sort of space (not that Cattle doesn't deserve all the praise they get) so super happy to see them on the channel getting some much deserved love.

Man, Sven has always had such a fascinating style, absolutely love how his lows have that hollowed out tone to them. This is also probably my favorite track they've released since way back on the Necrotic Manifesto LP.

As soon as you hear Sven's voice, you know it's Aborted, and you know the song will be good. I think this is also a good time to look at some Despised Icon maybe, since Alex is in this song? Fantastic band with 2 vocalists with different ranges, might be a fun one to analyze.

I saw Aborted live in 2022 and my goodness they sounded spectacular. His vocals are just as powerful live as recorded. Incredibly unique. Heard him doing vocal warm ups backstage and it was so badass

This song absolutely rips, would definitely be cool to get a full Despised Icon reaction at some point too, Alex is the more hardcore style vocalist and Steve does all the brutal death metal gutterals/pig squeals, the way they play off eachother is so sick, arguably the best deathcore band ever as far as I'm concerned because they have the perfect 50/50 balance of brutal death metal and beatdown hardcore, no other deathcore band has quite struck the balance like them imo

Castiel - "Exitium" or "Phantom" Dead/Awake - "Blackball" In Gloom - "God The Animal" Monasteries - "F(r)iend", "The Gomorrah Verses" or "Fawkes" (RIP) Beyond Deviation - "White Noise", "Wanderer" or "Thalassophobia" (RIP) Dysphoria - "Caligula Bows Down" Some of them aren't Downtempo overall, by the way. But it has some Downtempo elements in it. Sorry, it's a lot. But I got to give some recommendations. Hopefully, you'll react to some of them!

Their record "A Disease for the Ages" is one of my absolute favorites and it is SLOW and Heavy as balls! Plus the pair of vocalists really make them stand out from the crowd of general doomy metal bands...
