This song is the first in the list of the 30th anniversary of Metallica's Black List Album in 2021, where many artists from different genres performed Metallica covers, and The Warning was invited along with Alessia Cara to do this version. Simply, one of the best Covers of that 30th anniversary album that was for charity fundraising.

The funny thing is they composed, recorded, mixed & mastered this in 7 days (across 3 countries), rather than 7 years. Definitely check out the studio version (OMV) with Alessia as well. It’s almost a different version than even this one. & they’ve also done this live with a string-section (hopefully we’ll get the official video of that as well someday)

I feel sorry for The Warning if they do, they will look like amateurs compared to Bandmaid, I have to admit that The Warning has better vocals but the musicianship for Bandmaid is three levels above The Warning, you don;t play beside a band that will blow you out of the water in a concert

@@user-vv6mj7lq5y Wow, quite a bias you have. I'm a very good guitarist and vocalist and from my perspective the Band-Maid is no more proficient on their instruments than The Warning. Both bands are very good and professional but appeal to slightly different people. I listen to Band-Maid but I definitely prefer The Warning's music, musicality and especially their vocals. By the way, music is NOT a competition and when someone comments on a video that is about a particular band and tries to judge or compare one to another it usually is done by someone who is lacking in certain qualities so maybe you need to do some personal soul searching.

@@johnclute3058 i have been involved in the rock scene since 1965, a family of musicians and surrounded by musicians including playing guitar and building a sound studio that is used by The Rolling Stones and many other top bands, what are your credentials...there is a difference between being talented and being super talented, learn the difference, writing all your own songs that are some of the most intricate musical composures is the biggest difference but there are many others, Cottele does great renditions of Maximum the Hormone songs but its easy for any musician to copy someone else, and The Warning seems to be just a Metallica cover band from what I have seen, I can do anything Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Van Halen, can do, and I know too many better than me

I've been playing & performing since the mid '60s, have been around many top commercial bands, musicians, writers, engineers and recording studio personnel. Most have been great and honest people but there's this nasty habit that many people in the music industry have and that is they take their opinions way too serious and think they know everything. You come off as a know-it-all and appear that you're just looking for attention. No matter what BS credentials you provide at this point will change my opinion of your opinion. I would say if you want GOOD attention, try being a little more honest and humble with your opinions since they ARE purely subjective! Have a great day!

Europetour in April with 97% of tickets sold out. They travel to Japan for shows in June. They return to Europe in July to participate in 10 festivals in 29 days and more shows in the Netherlands. 3 festivals scheduled in the second half of the USA that should be part of the American tour... Release of the new album in June. They just had the best show at the Vive Latino Festival last weekend, playing to 50000 people. There are already shows scheduled for 2025... They deserve to conquer the world!

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

Lars said to do something different so they turned it upside down and backwards.. Starts with "Take my hand" The original ends with that.. They end with the iconic riff, the original starts with it, etc etc. Add in their signature harmonies and this is a fantastic piece of work!

Funny you said they had 9 years to perfect their version of Enter Sandman. In reality, they had 1 week. The Warning was contacted by Alessia Cara 's management team to collaborate in recording a Metallica cover during the 2020 pandemic to feature on Metallica's Blacklist album . From finding a producer to recording it in a studio was all done in one week to meet Metallica's deadline. The collaboration with Alessia was all done through zoom due to the pandemic. And yes, Metallica loved this version. May I suggest Dust to Dust as your next reaction from the same concert since you enjoyed Pau, the drummers vocals so much. Thanks John🤟

DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. in the OMV, Dany (guitar) and Alessia share the lead vocals until they are in the three doorways when Dany takes over and Alessia does more of the background oooohs and aaaahs... the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale (bass) and Pau (drums) join in with their angelic harmonies in both... this is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

John, I second the request by gregory for their cover of Atlas Rise at the Whisky. Before watching know that at that night they did an impromptu encore with that song after performing a well over 2 hours straight setlist and were already exhausted which defintely shows when Ale has to repeatedly drop her arm off the neck of her bass cuz she was so tired. They absolutely killed it and like he mentioned this was pre-COVID so they were still all teenagers here. It’s also a rare recording because they normally did not regularly include in their setlist when they played. There is another take from The Warning Cave (at home session studio) but The Whisky is defintely an over the top performance and a must see.⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Great reaction. I saw The Warning twice in 2022 opening for The Pretty Reckless. The lead singer talked quite a bit about their love for Metallica, even changing to a Metallica guitar for this song. I thought “oh, please don’t do a cover”, then half way thru the song thinking it might be the greatest thing I’ve ever heard. Also, midway into it you can’t take your eye off of Paulina the drummer. They’re all 3 excellent, but Pau is so captivating and she steals the show! The crowd was in shock, realizing they heard something truly exquisite. 🤘👏👏

This was a collaboration between The Warning and Alessia Cara for the 2021 Metallica Blacklist album. There were 53 artists invited to take a song from the Black album and given free license to rearrange it any way they liked. Be sure to check out the official music video as well. There are nuances that in studio version that are missed when they play it live, especially when it is Paulina doing the prayer.

*Enter Sandman (2021) Backstory:* Yes. Metallica knew this song because it appeared on their 2021 *Metallica's Blacklist Album* for charity. A project where Metallica asked 50 plus artists from different genres & styles of music to take a song from Metallica's Black album and do a cover. Since this project is celebrating 30 year anniversary of the Black Album. The artists were free to do what they wanted with the song they had. But with one stipulation. They couldn't change the lyrics. Metallica *originally asked Canadian pop singer Alessia Cara to participate.* Not The Warning. A man working for Alessia Cara also did International work for The Warning. He suggested both artists to do a collaboration. Metallica said go ahead. The Warning had 8 days to complete this version of *Enter Sandman.* With Alessia Cara recording in Canada & The Warning in Mexico. Due to Covid travel restrictions in each country. Plus to get the album pressed for orders. This *Enter Sandman* was first one of seven versions in a row on the Blacklist album. Only because it was listed as *Alessia Cara and The Warning.* The songs are on the Blacklist album as they appeared on the Black album. But the artist appears in alphabetical order. The Warning has stated their version begins where Metallica version leaves off. Going into the lullaby. They were asked by Metallica to change it up a bit - only condition - don't change the lyrics! They recorded it in 10 days with Alisia Cara also on vocals and it appears on Metallica's "Black List" album - Track #1. It's slightly different when they do it live - better - and they do use Alisia Cara's vocals as a backing track for the Oh Oh Oh Oh's between versus etc. Other than that, it's such a brilliant take on a truly excellent original, and in some ways (dare I say) I prefer it! Okay, lets clear something up. Metallica saw their cover from 10 years ago and asked them to recreate it for the "Blacklist" album. They got Alessia Cara to join them but their parts were done separately due to COVID. This version here is The Warnings own interpretation of the song, without Alissa Cara, and I think it's way better. Just my thoughts and opinion.

I think Metallica's take on this song was pretty positive given that this was the first track on the 30th anniversary Black List album. They had lots of artists cover their songs and The Warning got the spot as the first track? Must have meant they liked it. ⚡

You seem to really like their music, and you state your pride as a fan, but it's surprising that you have learned so little about them after reacting to them numerous times. I would have explored their history on my own without much attention to the typical voluminous comments posted by fans. I suppose I just don't have quite so much on my plate because I'm not distracted by other reaction duties.
