I understand why Dimash has said that the most difficult songs to sing are those of mothers. His interpretation is too emotional, he is a giant Dimash 💕💕💕

It was at his solo concert in the Ukraine It was Mother’s Day weekend I believe. He and his crew worked the night before I believe to learn the song for the concert. Dimash often throws in a song from the country he is In during a concert.

@@M.W.F.1 familiar of course. That however is different then arranging it for a performance. Ukrainian is not a language he speaks, so I am sure even though he had heard it before..it would take going over it and working on remembering lyrics. It would take a good bit of effort to get a song ready for a concert no matter who you are. It involves many people not just the singer. So it was a lovely gesture.

Dimash's Dad is his manager and he often travels with his grandparents and Mom and Dad are often in the audience. His biggest fear is that he will disappoint them - at his concert in Almaty, Kazakstahn last fall, he had his brother on stage with him singing TOGETHER, which Mansur wrote~ Dimash's mother is a soprano opera singer and his Dad, the former minister of culture is also a singer and they performed for years mostly in Kazakstan

Definitely not a sleeper song for me. This is one of my favorites of Dimash. His vocal control, fragility, and emotional delivery is next level! No one can do this like Dimash.i listen to this very often. He doesn't even need to show his range at all to be still, obviously something extremely exceptional.

This is the unofficial anthem to ukranian emigration in a beautiful tribute by Dimash. "Marigolds" is the crying song of an ukranian that had to emigrate because of the Holodomor: a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine from 1932 to 1933 that killed millions of Ukrainians. Each time he sees marigolds remembers his mother, who could not emigrate, as she planted an took care when he was a child. As he could not see her in her older age he imagines her old hands in the flowers.

Hi John, One aspect with Dimash that doesn't get mentioned is he is not beholden to a record label. He has the freedom to perform a very personal song like this. With this freedom and his courage, his songs cross all genres. They are not "cookie cutter" songs and that is why I like Dimash. Along with his incredible voice, stage presence, and story telling ability. He is a true artist creating masterpieces. Record companies create idols that must conform to their requirements. Could you see BTS making The Story of One Sky?
@maykacha4987
@maykacha4987 11 ай бұрын
Actually, BTS is not a good example. They would probably try something like The Story of One Sky. Spring Day was a very touching and emotional song about a horrible tragedy. Most in South Korea wouldn’t have touched the topic. While they may be more pop/hip hop based they are very socially conscious. They might address things differently but, you cannot take away from BTS that they speak out on hate crimes, domestic violence, social issues in general.
@rickplaisted1707
@rickplaisted1707 11 ай бұрын
I was referring to the music (genre and vocal styles incorporated into the song) which I doubt the record label would allow. It doesn't fit the K-Pop mold. I don't follow BTS enough to know what causes they support, but I will listen to the song you referenced.

This is his solo concert in Ukraine in Kiev "Arnau Tour" the last one before the pandemic on March 11, 2020. 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXTHfqVrmtt9hKM Dimash likes to surprise his audience in different parts of the world and that was the case with this Ukrainian song he learned the night before the concert. #Dimash can sing a lot in any genre(maybe even all?!) .🤔 And here we see a song that basically everyone can sing. What is the success of #Dimash and his secret??? It's not just a matter of voice technique! The fact is that it can and always finds its way to the listener's heart. And that's the most important thing! Listening to Him, we all feel great love along with various deep feelings in His singing. This is his main weapon! His music has a huge impact on people. He shows us more passion and emotion than we've ever seen. We can also learn from the Dimash phenomenon that music is not only entertainment but also an inspiration to discover the beauty of human life.

Hey John Chornobryvtsi written in1957 by Ukrainian Poet Mikola SINGAIVSKY 1936-2013 in Paris thinking of his Mama Chornobryvtsi Dimash is singing with much emotions your right John Marigolds means black nail and has insect repellent properties Chornobryvtsi are often used by mothers for medicinal purposes . Mikola was nine years in 1945 when his Mamma Ulyana and the others planted Marigolds in the desolate land after WW2 It's a flower that blooms in the land of the Dawn ,Where dark Ages end that's how mikola describes burned into his heart He writes at the age of 21 in Paris 1957 where he saw a flower bed of marigolds "Mother's flower grows right before my eyes in this distant foreign land in France ❤Dimash received a standing ovation in Kieve and the people all song Chornobryvtsi even today at refugee concerts they sing Chornobryvtsi like a second anthem. Suffering of Ukrainian nation :Holodomor 1932artificial famine (Salmatau Kazakhstan) Great Purge Stalin(Daididau)and WW2 all these are to a certain extent reflected in Chornobryvtsi I feel. Result melancholy song to remember the loved ones and heartbreaking text Marigolds was composed by Volodymyr Vermenych Vladimir 1925- 1986 Dimash learned it overnight on the plane with his pianist Even this year in the netherlands we had a Carriolon day where all Organs played Chornobryvtsi at the same time 💛💙

The Ukrainian poet Mykola Singaivsky (1936 - 2013) who wrote the lyrics to this song was 5 years old when WWII started. Kyiv fell and his hometown was overrun, forcing him and his mother Urivana to flee Ukraine. They returned after the war to a devastated landscape. Marigolds were the first flowers to be planted by his mother and the other surviving villagers and soon covered up some of the ravages of war. As an adult living in a foreign country, Mykola honors his beloved homeland and his mother’s love with this poem. A song born out of loss and war, it speaks of resilience, love, and rebirth.

Dimash is brilliant! I can see his message is about world peace, respect for family others. In the variety of his songs he is taking his beautiful message via his (God / Allah given gifts of singing and playing music). He is reaching every culture with his message and he unites us dears and is contributing to healing our world. I envisage him being given the Nobel Peace Prize when he becomes a little older. Bless you Dimash. I believe you not only knew that you would stand on a world stage in New York when you were very young, I believe❤you accepted and desired the mission that you are on now, so many of us share your thirst for peace and love. "Arnau" Tour (2019-2022 with pandemic break in the middle) - this was Ukraine concert, in Kiev, last one before pandemic restrictions. The concert took place a few days after Mother`s Day, so Dimash dedicated this ukrainian folk song to the ukrainian audience, and to his mother, sitting front row at his concert. One thing that makes Dimash truly unique, in my view, is his capability to project tenderness with his singing. Heartbreaking level of tenderness. He is unmatched in that, in my eyes. The song "Amanat" (2021) is another beautiful example of this.

Loved this performance and your reaction! Please check out his performance of Know/Vocalise from the same Arnau concert- he literally only vocalizes throughout the entire song, and he uses his voice as an incredible instrument!

I absolutely adore this performance. And when you think people in the Audi (and the place most likely) were bombed by their neighbour just two years later..... heartbreaking 😢

The lady in audience is his mother. Tradition is the oldest grandson is raised by grandparents. He thought as he was a young child that his real mom was a sister. Calls his grandmother mama also. But he adores his biological mother she is crying in audience

My "Dear" John you have to listen him sing "Autumn Strong" the (ARNAU TOUR) version. I think it was the same night that he performed "Marigold". You're going to be blown away. By the way, he sang this song in Ukrainian (Marigold). I love all your reactions. Be happy and healthy.

This is one of my all-time favourite songs/performances. No big notes, just beauty and emotion.

This is one of my favorite songs but mostly because of that unique effect he does of the "sorrow voice" 😭😭😭 I generally try to avoid the "gushy" songs but that vocal effect truly mesmerizes me every time.🥰 Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦

This one is just simple beautiful. In the crowd was his real mother, but he calls or considers his grandmother his mom. When he was a child he didn’t know Sveta is his mom and he thought she is his aunt. So at the beginning (2017, 2018), he still addressed her as aunt Sveta and grandma as a mama. But he loves both of them dearly.

I would LOVE to see you react to other local songs that he has learned specifically for the concerts in those countries. Particularly this one, there's vocal techniques i;d love for you to hear!!: - Armenia April 29, 2023 "I'll Die for the wind of the mountains". He only heard this song the day before the concert O_O And loved it so much he wanted to learn it and perform it!! He had prepared another song but changed his plans. (I believe the short instrumental part in the beginning was for that other song). Dimash is also a fan of the traditional wind instrument duduk, that is often used for playing this song, i think. He kind of impersonated the instrument in the end himself. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eovNlXt9q89kgK8
