MAMAMOO actually record their songs fast because they're already good singers. Like most of the time they enter the studio then finished recording less than an hour. That's how good they are vocally. Their producers doesn't have any complaints at all. They just sit there and watch mamamoo slays and do the job.

The girl in the left is Moonbyul. She's not only a rapper. That girl can sing sing! She can go ballad, pop with her high notes.😂 She's such a All-rounder. Moonbyul have live stage performances on the second world. I hope you check them out 😂 i suggest -for a ballad- Moonbyul Refuge (If you react to this spesific performance don't forget that she is also the main rapper 😂). You finally found them!!! They are, for me, the best kpop girl group in terms of vocal talent and pure musicality. Their songs and and their style (especially their earlier work) are quite accessible for the western-music-oriented listener, which I am (I'm Asian though). Kpop mostly surprised my listening brain the first time I seriously tried to listen to it because of its different structure, mostly it's the fact that each song seems to try to fit in a dancing part, a rap part, a bit of a vocal display with whatever is trendy at the moment (hiphop, r&b, edm, retro, whatever) and if not done with skill, it kinda sounds like a hodge-podge of stuff. But Mamamoo tries to retain musicality or at least what would make sense from time-tested musical practice. You can't go wrong with good vocals, good rap lyrics and delivery, good melodies and a proper beat to match. I hope you react to more of Mamamoo especially the live performances, talk about on a different level. :)

So glad you watched this and gave so much love to Moonbyul (rapper)! They really are the vocal queens, especially when you consider Hwasa (the one on the far right with the breathy voice) was actually just recovering from an illness here and still sounded so freaking good! I actually think Mamamoo sound better live than in the studio, but that might just be how much fun and passion they have for performing. I scrolled a little bit but did not see a certain comment so I will do this: Far Left: Moon Byul-yi, called Moonbyul or sometimes MoonStar because Byul translates to Star; Rapper and Performer (really just means she is specialized in Dance). 'The Nation's Girl Crush'. She writes all of her own rap lyrics in all of the group's original songs (making her at least 'near' the top of the list for prolific female Writers/ Rappers/ Vocalists in all of K-Pop). She has been practicing on her vocals as well, so now she can keep up with these other three ladies on the World-Class level. She very recently won a Vocal Competition against other K-Pop Idols and Soloists where she even surprised herself. She's also very likable and she seems to make new friends effortlessly. Second-from-Left: Kim Yong-sun, called Solar; Leader (and oldest member) of the group and of course their Big Belter. Also 'The Muscle', because she really started to focus on her health and fitness after discovering a certain activity that she found to be fun for her, while filming one of their MVs. I won't ruin the surprise except to say it is STRAIGHT FIRE. She's 'Crackhead Number One' in the group and has even called herself crazy at least once. She is hard-headed and impossible to stop once she gets an idea she wants to try. Second-from-Right: Jung Whee-in, called Wheein; Vocalist and Performer, picks up choreography even faster than Moonbyul, 'The Genius' of the group. She is MADE OF ART. She sings in many different genres, she dances in many different genres, she draws, she paints, she learned how to play Drums in under a month for a stage performance. In an athletic setting, she was at least the first K-Pop Idol (guys or girls) to ever score three bulls-eyes in an Archery competition (she may not be the ONLY one now but she was still first). This woman can do it all and more. Also, 'Crackhead Number Two'. Has known Hwasa since they were both in Middle School together, best friends who even have matching tattoos with each other. They can match harmonies so effortlessly because they have known each other for so long. Far Right: Ahn Hye-jin, called Hwasa; Vocalist of the Group and It-Girl of Korea, 'The Queen of Queens'. She's the youngest member of the group and the one hated on the most by internet trolls (ESPECIALLY the Korean trolls, because 'she does not look like an Idol should look', with their stupid Korean Beauty Standard). What Korea does not realize is that we Westerners see her as an Exotic Beauty. She has BIG personality, VERY charismatic and she tries hard at anything she wants to do. She's very much her own person and we would not have it any other way. MASSIVE Stage Presence. A real sweetheart, she feels very deeply and does not try to hide emotions (unless the performance requires it) who would literally give somebody the shirt off her back if they asked. PLEASE, check out Purple Hawke's two videos on these ladies, 'Introducing Mamamoo Part One' and 'Introducing Mamamoo Part Two'. Not too many spoilers but good info, even if it is a little bit outdated by now. Part One will tell you a little bit about Solar and Moonbyul. Part Two will tell a little bout Wheein and Hwasa. It's actually a really fun and great way to learn to put names to faces and I can almost guarantee that you will never forget who-is-who after watching those two videos. :)

They are all rounder, besides generally considered to be the best female vocal group of their generation they're also known for their versatility. People say Mamamoo can sing anything and write a song about anything. They've been doing more solo work since 2018 and became the first kpop group to have all members chart on Billboard as solo artists while the group is still active Moonbyul (the rapper) trained to be a volcalist actually but was forced to be a rapper in order to debut. She always been longing to sing and has won 1st place in the survey show "second world" by JTBC recently which is a show where she can show the real her instead of a girl group rapper, that is a show designed to showcase the singing ability of rappers.

Yes. You remembered right, they are the the VOCAL QUEENS. so much so, that many Koreans actually consider them artists and not idols. Because their vocal talent is so incredible and they don’t use things like choreography and visuals to sell their songs. Their voices do that all on their own, the rest is just the cherry on top. I’m sure we don’t need to tell you to react to every one of those songs, they are all absolutely amazing. But even having said that, there are so many b-sides that I think even top these. I really hope you watch a guide for them because they are all so amazing as individuals, too. They really stand for what they believe in and they are such amazing role models. The Purple Hawke guide Introducing Mamamoo is the best guide. I’m sure others have already mentioned it in the comments. And it’s not just a good source to get to know Mamamoo, the editing and the narration is incredible. Like when I say it looks like a professional documentary you’d see on like MTV I’m not even joking. If you want to react to them I would recommend doing it earlier on because I feel like knowing them members on a more personal level really helps you appreciate their music even more. Cause you can see how genuine and passionate they really are. Trust me, if you’re not already in love with them now, you will be after the guides.

My favorite female K-pop group their vocals are so good live especially. Moonbyul the rapper has been friends with Jin for years (they have a group chat for a few days sold idols born in 92’ and Jin is the most active texting she says. Jungkook has the same with a handful of the 97’ liner idols he hangs out with. In Korea age is such a big hierarchy thing is having friends your own age is common.

Definitely should react to "I miss you" live performance on Mnet K-pop (all wearing brown) or their Immortal Song Medley (Korean show that honors older singers by reimagining their songs). Mamamoo is famous for singing live and rarely trying to lip sync (they were not very good at it and gave up). Mamamoo is ear candy 💚 I love that they aren’t afraid to traverse genres: jazz, r&b, hip-hop, ballads, pop… they do it all and they’re so good! Also calling them the queens of k-pop is so accurate because 1) true, and 2) girl group doesn’t really fit. They’re grown women and it’s hard to explain, but I find their more adult/mature vibe so comforting as another woman. Can’t wait to watch you explore more of their work! In this "Fan-dora's Box" round of Queendom the competitors were tasked with doing a song suggested by their fans. MMM took the spirit of the fan round to heart by re-arranging I Miss You as a love song to their fans. Moonbyul re-wrote her rap verse as a message to moomoos (MMM fans) and during the song they inserted a video of clips ranging from their trainee days to shout-outs to moomoos when they won awards or scored wins on tv music shows. Thank you for your wonderful reaction! I’ve subscribed so I can watch your future Mamamoo reactions. By the way, they don’t have main/lead/sub designations. As you’ll see when you get into their discography, the three vocalists are all excellent and the line distribution between them is very balanced. Solar is known for her powerful high chest voice and belting, Wheein for her versatility and gorgeous blended chest/head voice, and Hwasa for her smouldering seductive voice. But they can all do much more. As a group, they deploy their individual qualities strategically to serve best what each song needs. For example, you’ll quite often have Hwasa starting a song to set a sexy or dangerous mood, then Wheein building up the intensity with her rich and varied tonal palette, and then Solar taking the crescendo to a peak. And then there’s Moonbyul. As if it weren’t enough to have Solar, Wheein and Hwasa in the same group, as if that by itself weren’t a shocking violation of all norms of fairness, Mamamoo has Moonbyul. She trained as a vocalist, even briefly was leader and vocalist of a group, alongside Wheein, which lasted less than a week before it was abandoned pre-debut. Her vocal coach all along expected her to be a *main* vocalist in a group. But because she was a trainee alongside the other three, their company forced her to choose between becoming a rapper and not debuting at all. She had no prior interest in rap, but she wanted to debut so she learned. Her rapping melts my heart and gets me in tears. The vocalist in her never goes away: some of her very best raps are in her unique low-voiced melodic style. She writes almost all of her own raps, including writing brand new rap sections for songs that never had them, and making them fit so perfectly that it seems they were always meant to be there. (Check out “Delilah”, their cover of the Tom Jones song. It’s dangerous to react to, because of copyright strikes, so maybe watch it on your own time.) Sometimes, just very rarely, you’ll have Moonbyul rapping while Solar, Wheein and Hwasa harmonize the word “Mamamoo” repeatedly in the background. For me this is an ultimate form of bliss. They do this in their cover of “Love Me” by Stooshe (there are many videos of this from their debut year), and also in their first ever appearance on Immortal Songs 2, covering the Korean song “Wait a Minute”. The other thing that stunned me when I first learned it, and probably everyone else too: Wheein and Hwasa have been best friends since the first day of middle school. They went to karaoke together all the time, dreaming of becoming singers. They left their home town of Jeonju, in the south of Korea, to move together to Seoul to pursue their shared dream. They went to auditions hand in hand. They both signed with the same agency. Eventually they debuted together as half of Mamamoo. They have a very special bond. Once you know this, you’ll see it in all their interactions. I hope you’ll enjoy your Mamamoo journey!

All of them are very competent in singing, rap and dance in varying degrees, styles and genres. (They fit like a puzzle imo) Wheein(girl with a fringe) is the only one who haven't rapped officially. Fun fact: her voice is errily similar to MoonByul (sweater vest) when pitched down. Official Vocal line is Solar (powerful and round,if you get what I mean), Wheein(cool and airy), and Hwasa (raspy and sultry). Official Rap line is Moonbyul(thin but warm voice) and Hwasa(white top). Hwasa don't rap much these days though (her style is more in your face compared to Byul who tends to be melodic). Mamamoo has often been dubbed by Moomoos(fandom) as Comedians who can sing (or sings as a side job). Welcome to the Mamamoo rabbit hole and hopefully to the radish(moo) farm.

Third and final comment. Before you move on to the songs in the Killing Voice medley I recommend watching another live sampler called Immortal Songs Medley, which was filmed at a MMM concert in 2017. It's an 11 minute must see jaw dropper with a live band that includes some of the covers they performed on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2.

Right? I actually found mamamoo when I came across Wheein rendition of BtS Dimple, it was so good. They are very talented... Plus, like bangtan, they are completely outside kpop norms. And i love them for that

Wasn't expecting the cutest Mamamoo reaction I have ever seen from a metal vocalist 😭😭😭 This reaction comes across as very sincere, your eyes were really shinning in "I miss you" 😂 (really recommend the Queendom performance of that song). The west doesn't know how great they are because of the language barrier. They are becoming more popular now with KZbin showcasing them. As you saw, language wasn't a problem for you watching them. There is actually enough context there for you to get what is going on. And those vocals are TO DIE FOR.

Mr John Reaves. I won't be the type of fan to force u to watch every single mamamoo related thing. However I feel damn near obligated to HIGHLY SUGGEST reacting to their immortal songs medley. Starts with slow ballads, but by the time the curtains call, you will absolutely be BLOWN away (yes even more so than this killing voice performance).

I discovered MAMAMOO considerably early in my K-pop journey (2017), but I believe the initial “introduction” was a compilation of girl group members in behind-the-scenes footage. Not only did I get to learn some group names this way, but I got to see their genuine personalities. And that casual goofy nature you pointed out here was precisely what made them stick out to me. I wish I could recall which songs I watched first. I know for sure “You’re the Best” was one because there was one stage performance that I could NOT stop watching. Obviously I was impressed by their live vocals, and then to see their personalities still present in the performance? I was SMITTEN! Been a fan ever since.❤

They are very sincere, the way they get along with each other is very similar to BTS, I also like them very much, they are different from the average Korean girl group, they are really good, thank you for your reaction to them, their solo album, single They are all great too!! These ladies are HUGE stars overseas. They are THE vocal queens, if you didn't get that. This is a group that formed itself and showed up outside theaters to do live street performances to instant throngs of fans. They finally got signed with a company and some money behind them. Made a lot of outstanding music videos. Some of the most mind blowing live stage performances EVER seen. Their appearances on comedy variety TV shows is chaotic beyond belief. The overall attitude is one of "we do what we like in any given moment." All have solo music that would also blow your mind. Watch "Immortal Songs Medley" is a must see. And Delilah live, but stay all the way to the end,.. theres a big finish.
