Great video. I already have damaged lungs from sharpening. The pulmonologist wondered why I had so many tiny calcium deposits in my lungs until she found out what I do. I have built a marginal dust collection system along with magnets on all my machines on top of wearing a mask. The dust still gets on everything in the shop. I have probably lowered the dust by about 70% Everyone should do everything they can to minimize breathing the dust. Keep in mind it's on your clothes too and you are carrying it into the house.

I agree it totally worth keeping an eye on I was shocked the day when my lasers set it off and how fast the air went from good to bad from just not having the exhaust fan on. It was still venting outside but not fast enough that it didn’t affect the room. Also cleaning with the shop vac was an eye opener when it had no heppa filter something lots of people don’t think about.

Great and very important information about controlling and monitoring particulates in the shop, I really don't think this gets talked about in the sharpening community enough! I use CBN wheels on my TORMEK so I always wondered about how much particles I'm generating. I think I just might have to buy the particulate meter you demonstrated. Thanks again for taking the time to make another great video.
