One of my favorite knives I have. Love D2 steel and micarta.

Probably in my top 5 favorite Civivis. Fits my hand pretty well. No legal worries. Really like the aesthetics. Really like the blade. I like that Civivi is branching out more, making back locks and thumb stud openers. I am sure that is part of why I like it, it's not a flipper in a market saturated by flippers. I liked your metaphors. Fun review.

Nice looking knife. I have a few civivi and they're all good knives. I like the hollow grinds civivi does. This one kind of reminds me of the old SOG Tomcat.

MC, I just wanted to mention that when you give a look at the inside of some Knives like you did with this one, (Liners) you go a bit to quick on that aspect of the review Brother. Thanks MC......You and your Family stay safe out the Brother. 🤝🏽

Great review. I skipped the Hooligan, and chose the Elementum instead. I have a similar thumbstud issue with the CJRB Large Feldspar. It's either a combination of a strong detent, with a pointy thumbstud, and the blade pivot to thumbstud arc, or something, Whatever, it tore the flesh that binds to the underside of my thumbnail when I first tried to deploy it. Instead of going straight up, now I kick it out at a 45° angle and it deploys better. Also with a thumbstud, if you don't get the blade to fully deploy, often your thumb will graze upon the edge of the blade. I haven't cut myself doing that yet, but it's annoying enough that I usually don't carry it. It's a shame because I love everything else about the Feldspar.

I can definitely relate to your siblings analogy. I have 2 sisters and they are way cooler than I am.

I own this knife, I share the sentiment about the ergos, it's funny because I was literally talking to my friend the other day about comparing this to the PM3 and how little they would have needed to increase that choil to be a finger choil. Needless to say I am sending it out to get it turned into a finger choil, Im going to also see if they can make that jumping slightly more aggressive as well... I have a feeling with those two additions this will make it amazing. Let me also say that regardless of its current shortcomings this is my favorite civivi (I've only had 3 tho, the elementum, this and the backlash.) But something about this knife just speaks to me, i will let you know how these changes affect this knife, I am willing to bet it's going to be amazing.

reminds me of a hinderer design, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. that being said, i wish this had a flipper.

I'd buy this knife in a heartbeat if it came in more flavors. Blackwash or coated D2 in different color micarta handle! My flavor isnt quite on the menu with this one Civivi

Thumb stud placement reminds me of the Benchmade Nakamura. Matter of fact the blade shape and size is also similar.🤔

The handle shape almost looks like it was originally designed for a flipper and they changed their minds to thumbstuds instead. Glad to see them use micarta, though. Edit: Kizer has said that they plan on using more micarta in the future and I hope it becomes a trend with production knives in general.

Anybody else notice a striking resemblance to the benchmade nakamura??

I wish I could have access to knives on Amazon but they refuse to send most of them to where I live, (state of NY). It's incredibly unreasonable...
@SeemsLogical4 жыл бұрын
I live in New York but didn't experience any refusal of shipment on their end. Are you living within the city limits? Like in one of the 5 boroughs or in Buffalo or Albany?

@@SeemsLogical I live outside the 5 on LI - I can't seem to buy any kind of folding knife any more- I recently tried to buy the Harnds 'wind' and was restricted again. I think it's because it has the word ''flipper'' in the sale title, but the restriction rules on amazon are extensive and somewhat ambiguous, so I don't know for sure. I'd like to find an alternate dealer of the Harnds & two Sun, etc.types of knives, but most places are sold out right away or deal directly from China, so the shipping is expensive and takes a long time.

@@SeemsLogical I live in upstate NY ( near the Vermont border) and I can confirm- Amazon will not send us ANYTHING sharp and pointy- no matter what length blade. It really sucks but that’s ok, I’ve learned to accept it and it’s their loss (hahaha)- BHQ took up the slack!! Amazon started to die for me for this very reason. I don’t need “protecting from myself!” :(

I think most people are sick of D2 because of so much 5cr crap coming out of China marketed as d2. Twosun makes excellent D2 blades and if you want the best D2 read about friction forging.

I have this knife and to me the micarta feels like cardboard. I have a fiddleback forge fixed blade in micarta, comparing the quality of these 2 micarta scales is like comparing gold to tin.
