Really love this v2, and the improved 'detent'. Really like the wrap around backspacer, wish they were used more. Really like how they did the clip

Yup. This is my favourite Civivi buttonlock at the moment too. Or a close tie with the Buttonlock Praxis, but it feels and looks fancier. Lots of people are calling out for micarta or G10 backstrap. Even if they came out with different patterned or coloured FRN backstraps, that would be very welcome.

I agree with you about the back-spacer material... If they had done a G10 or micarta wrap around back spacer, a hollow grind throughout, and a 3.25 or 3.5 in blade they would have had a huge hit on their hands. I would have bought one and I have never owned a civivi. I also would like it more without the flipper. It would almost have the same ergos as a shaman if so.

MC another odd handle construction to take a peek at is the old SOG flashback. Was I believe FRN inner handle with a thin steel shell wrapped around it much like the plastic on this knife. Kind of odd and neat.

Interesting knife. Blade shape looks like WE knife put their Zizzit blade on a different handle, while giving it a subtle secondary tip. I have 2 Zizzits, and would definitely recommend this model as a cheaper alternative to it.

I like the warncliffe blade profile of the first version better. Only complaint there was that it was D2. But nit a total deal breaker. This video was interesting because it seemed like you weren't a huge fan of version 1

That's a budget version of the WE Exciton! Looks like they've made he handle and blade just a bit wider than the Exciton

Probably one of the last, great OG BL designs as the industry moves to the pivot-button & compression-button designs for better strength/value ratio. And ... the only way to improve the CS Recon 1 is to add a glassbreaker/s-crusher so I coulda taken down that just "derobed" buffalo 🦬 much easier.

I had a good experience with the 1st Sentinel Strike for the first few weeks. I purchased it from ebay with a few other civivis, so it could have been slightly used, but appeared LNIB when I got it. After dropping it one time from like 3 feet it got irreparable blade play left to right and has remained that way ever since. (I drop all my knives and they're usually fine) I've tried tightening it and loosening the body screws and vice versa. Of all the civivi button locks I own, the action of this one has noticeably downgraded over time. It gets better after cleaning and lube, but I would say this knife has a grace period of about a month before it starts to degrade. My other button locks seem to get better over time, this one gets worse. Hope this helps some ppl :)

No argument here. I have the Sentinel Strike 1, WE Exiton, and Ziffius. It compares quite favorably with the latter 2 at a third the price. Fantastic knife.

Button lock "detent" lash seems to get worse with use. A longer term review would be needed to evaluate in my opinion. My Malibus, Mordax, and CJRBs had none new but developed considerable wiggle after weeks - months of fidgeting.

The original Sentinel Strike is better because you can get the full blade down on a surface without touching your knuckles. Both are great though. Hyperpulse is just as good as the SS2.

MC I still don't understand your hate for any bill on a pocket clip. How is it supposed to slide over the lip of your pocket if its flat to the scale?? Then we would hear endless tirades about how you hate having to pry up the clip to slide it in your pocket and how it hurts your fingies!

​@lando8913 no. It's a ramp that ends. A "Bill" is the part of the clip that continues horizontally after the ramp ends. Civivi = bill. MXG = no bill
