Some publications and Bring Me the Horizon themselves have referred Music to Listen to an EP due to having 8 songs despite the songs being so long it surpasses their albums in runtime. Its also could be that it wasn't promoted like an album, with no singles, live performances or tours based around it. Many will still see it as an album cause of is length, wikipedia lists it as a "commercial release", I consider it a b-side compilation

@@jayshattered1215 Post Human Survival Horror is officially labeled an EP according to the band's website, but band member Jordan Fish has said in an interview that it ended up with more songs than intended and should've been called an album. I agree with that, not just because listening to it feels like more like a short album due to the amount and quality of the songs, but also because it got a full albums worth of promotion, with multiple singles and eventually a tour based off of it, even postponing the next post human release so Survival Horror could get a full promotional cycle. in that sense iI think it qualifies more as an album that Music to Listen to, even if the latter is much longer, but officially both are considered EPs

@@chadhenry961 every definition of EP vs Album I can find puts both Post Human and Music to Listen to in the album category. "Singles" are 1-3 tracks less than 10 min, "EPs" are 1-6 tracks under 30 min and "Albums" are anything over 30 min although I think artists labeling of them would over rule that which would count Post Human as an EP as that's how the band promotes it but Music to Listen to as an album. Although I do entirely understand what you're saying with the attention the band gives the projects (singles, tours general promo, ect) making PH be an album and music to listen to be an EP I don't think the actual promo of a project determines if it's an album or EP

@@jayshattered1215 those definitions certainly make sense (for the record I consider music to dance to a b-side compilation album) but some artists do challenge those, though usually it’s releasing short albums to get better promotion, rather than an hour long EP to get less promotion. for example Bilmuri releases albums which average 7 songs and are well under 30 minutes. A notable earlier example would be Nine Inch Nails’s 2016 album Bad Witch, which is 6 songs, 30 minutes long and was originally intended to be the 3rd of a trilogy of EPs but Trent Reznor decided to label it an album for promotional purposes, as he felt EPs got overlooked, subsequently a fan sent him an angry message online insisting that Bad Witch is an EP according to the same set of rules you just quoted, which Reznor responded by telling the fan to suck his entire cock😆
