I finally got around to installing a full set of MC arms, replacing my factory arms and Teraflex sport front lowers. The difference in harshness was immediate! Can't wait to see how they perform on the trail!

Can you test a Factory Clevite Bushing on your "Shaker Table" so as to give a base line for vibration dampining of a "stock ride". i love the concept of this product and see how it seems to out perform most if not all of the options out there, but since every jeep out there is so much different in setup and everyone has there own "butt meter" for ride quality this point of reference could help a lot.

We can definitely look at doing that. Now that the tests are done, the Shaker Table is back on a pallet and put out of the way, but I'll look into doing it.

This sounds like a great idea to me as well. Although I have Metalcloak Front Upper and lower control arms on order so when they come I will be able to say for sure if they ride better than the stock arms with clevite bushings or the same as the stock arms with clevite bushings.

lratinksafire While some customers have said that their ride quality was better then stock, our goal was to make a control arm that flexes like a typical joint, but rides like a stock clevite. So you Duroflex arms should be as good as your stock ride, but with the ability to flex like crazy.
@cisstl110 жыл бұрын
lratinksafire please let me know how it goes.

I am debating between your Duroflex bushings and Teraflex's Independent Rotation bushings... I would love to see if the IR bushings do well on this test

Thanks to tests like these and the invention of the Duroflex joint back in 2011, many suspension companies stepped uyp their R&D and started developing newer technology to compete. At some point we will do a new video that compares the new offerings.

MetalCloak thank you! I’m looking forward to it!

i can agree with the RE MVH. going from stock arms to RE arms i felt a noticeable change in vibrations and feedback. when these wear out im grabbing MC arms.

I bought the 2.5 inch game changer for my JL. Other than that kit, do you all recommend anything else to maintain the stock feel?
@metalcloak Жыл бұрын
I would recommend the Rocksport Shocks if you did not already purchase. The shocks work with the True Dual Rate coil springs very well and provide the additional travel you will want. You should be good to go out and enjoy just like that! Enjoy, feel free to give our techs a call with any questions about the system.

Can you test some stock arms? I am curious of the difference....
@metalcloak9 жыл бұрын
+thrasher949 We are planning on re-doing the video sometime in the next couple months to show some of the newer joints on the market... we will try to add the stock joints in if we can make a mount for it to work with.

I’m sorry, but with the way that table works it would be very easy to skew the results by adjusting more or less interference to the telescoping sleeve. I could be missing something, can you please explain how this machine is adjusted on each joint to ensure accuracy and fairness?
@metalcloak4 жыл бұрын
I understand your point, but the way the table is set up, we were required to make sure the distance between the center point of the joint and where the arm mounted to the machine to be exactly the same length. There was no way to change that variable to benefit one joint over the other.

This doesnt just apply to Jeeps, this also applies to custom street machines and hot rods...In fact the only reason I watched this was because I want to build a custom set of control arms and Watts link for my '99 Lincoln Towncar, I need a smooth flat handling ride, so i'm retaining my air suspension, upgrading the front/rear anti sway bars, control arms and watts link...My idea was to use swedged tubing for the watts link with heim joints, and a combination of heim and polyurethane joints for the control arms. I'll also upgrade the driveshaft once I find one that fits to lower vibration and rotational mass. and I'd like to do all this without spending hundreds. so DIY is the answer.

So you lift a Jeep, put mud tires on it and your worried about vibrations? Umm it's a lifted Jeep you have other things to worry about.
@metalcloak10 жыл бұрын
That's funny. Today's Jeep tends to be as much a daily driver as an off road toy. The less vibrations you get on the road, the more comfortable your daily ride, and the longer all your other components will hold up. So yeah, the days of crappy rides with lifted Jeeps are no more.

He is probably referring to the steering kickback, pitching, tyre noise, etc. That said, if your product reduces the vibration and noise transferred from the tread, it may be a well worth modification. I do not currently have a need for the product, but have BMed your site - now, a metric range...
