Iron Maiden have sold over 80+ Million albums without help from the media and radio, I think they have only done one commercial song and it's still a great track(Wasted Years) I cannot say which band is better because they both kick ass but those just slagging Maiden off , Being a true Metallica fan you should realize that maiden influenced Metallica's music as they was growing up. Lars Ulrich, “I don’t think Metallica would be where Metallica is today if it wasn't for Iron Maiden.” Also who gives a crap how people dress , They are not hurting anyone and just expressing themselves , I am pretty sure if James or Bruce read some of the comments about how people are dressing they'd be disappointed that mindless people listening to there music. This is the problem with people in my age group(24) who listen to metal, They think they know it all when really they don't have a clue.

I don't see why so many people are so one or the other, I love them both and they're both fucking awesome in their own ways, Metallica - heavier sound, inspiration to lots of bands today, awesome riffs, gotten worse since the black album though both live and in albums Iron maiden - orgasmic guitar solos, Bruce dickinsons voice, still amazing live haven't lost any quality Plus you have to consider that although they're both metal, iron maiden is heavy metal and metallica are thrash metal so they do have their differences

Where as Metallica fans are obsessed with how they look, what's cool and what people think about them. Yeah I've been to a Metallica show, it was alright I suppose, Nothing special. Whereas a Maiden concert is a like a Religious experience. Don't get me wrong, I love Metallica and I want the old Metallica back - the 80's in your face Metallica that made 4 great Thrash albums. Not today's Metallica - the Metallica that has been pumping out pure shit for 20 years! And that brings me back to my first point, Maiden have produced consistently good albums since 1980.

Metallica all sounds the same to me, whether as Iron Maiden has some of the best riffs, solos, and lyrics I have ever heard. I like Metallica, but putting Maiden next to them makes Metallica look like a repetitive shit sandwich lol

actually all of metallica albums are good exept for saint anger. besides metallica is more heavy and they sold more albums and there still making good music. maiden never made it out of the 80s. thats what needed to be said!!!!!!

Well thats where you're wrong. Metallica's last 4 albums can be compared to shit. Maiden has released one masterpiece after another. I can name Metallica's good songs and count them on my fingers, for Maiden i need a bloody calculator to count their good songs. Another thing, go do some research about which Band T-shirt has been the most successful selling piece of band merchandise since the beginning of the idea.
