The other members are Cal Shortal (lead guitarist), Tim Karmouche (keyboards and rhythm guitar, aka 'Mouche'), and Matt Blach (drums, backing vocals, lead singer and guitarist in Beans). The Murlocs are on a hiatus, because Ambrose is working on an album with Jay Watson (from Gum, Pond, and Tame Impala) and just started a world tour with King Gizzard (I saw them twice this week and they signed one of my pickguards!!!).

I love Gizz so much but The Murlocs are something special for sure, Amby is 100% the soul of both bands. The album that this is on, Calm Ya Farm, is pretty perfect from beginning to end. Initiative, Undone and Unashamed are the 2 other singles if you want to check them out. You asked about how they all have time to do these other projects - Stu has stated that the way they go about recording is very fluid, and not every band member is involved in every album. For instance Amby and Cookie were on Murlocs tour while the rest of them made Rats Nest. I honestly think it’s been the key to their success thus far.

Whenever you *do* start Paper Mache, I cannot in good conscience recommend any live version INSTEAD OF the studio. The point of the album was to be acoustic, and what songs they do play live aren't usually acoustic. Changes the entire sound.

If you want to hear cookies solo project, pipe-eye I would highly reccomend “people move along” - it showcases some familiar elements I think which shows how influential cookie is to king Gizz’s sound. It kinda proves why he’s like the texture guitarist of the band

I got the impression Stu didn't want Cookie and Ambrose doing a side project. At least, there was an interview I saw once (maybe the one with Fantano) where he mentioned how KGLW had such freedom to do anything genre wise there was no need for side projects. Really glad they did though. Murlocs have put out some great tracks.
