"Self Immolate" fully deserves to start the adventure with KGLW and is a great track to start 2024 with them. One of my favorite thrash riffs ever. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Hell. There's a part in there that sends shivers down your spine. I won't write anything more so as not to spoil the fun. Good health in the new year, and to change your mood I suggest "Paper Mâché Dream Balloon" next in line. With your dad in the other seat.

I'm pretty sure after being compared to The Grateful Dead so much Stu dove into their music and was inspired to make the live shows more improvisational. He's said before that it makes him feel more like a musician rather than an entertainer. It also makes shows more unique since a lot of fans were following the boys around the entire tour.

I think part of why the riff seems a bit messier here is because Stu's playing it a lot faster. They play it at the same speed as the studio version near the end. This song is great. Not much to say about it, this is Gizz metal. Story-wise, this song tells us that the crew of the Venusian 2 spaceship have arrived on Venus, but gotten incredibly sick. They all decide to jump into volcanoes because of how much they hate it. This song also marks the first use of the term "Auto-Cremate" in a King Gizz song. It's used again in The Hungry Wolf of Fate and Magma, among others that I don't remember. Next up is Hell, one of my favorite tracks on the album, up there with Perihelion. After I listened to Ice, Death, all that other stuff in the title, I watched your reactions and you mentioned a 3-minute KEXP version of Hell's Itch. That wasn't Hell's Itch, that was Hell.

The thing about that witchcraft section is that it's in 13 (or alternating 6 and 7). The melody is syncopated with the more rhythmically accessible bass/percussion. It's lasered into my brain because it was the first thing I hyper-focused on from Petro. If I could explain it better in this space I would 😭 but just know that it's meant to feel off-balance. The whole song feels that way.

Bro you should stop saying sorry for pausing, this is what reaction is, you tell the viewers the opinion of yours. people who watch the reaction just to hear the music can fuck right off. this riff is really hard to play fast but once you figure it out slow your hand memorizes the pattern and it makes it sort of easier, you feel the flow and its less harder. its also hard because of the time signature its not a straight 4/4 so thats what throws you off probably. and stu is really sloppy with the riff live yeah, but i dont think he needs to be technically precise for the show to be a banger, its really all about the energy behind the people who play the music.
