NO is such an empowering song!! I love how the lyrics encourage students to break free and to reject conformity and the voices that will speak over them and instead to take control of their own life and make their own choices, rather than being controlled by others. I really like how the song challenges society’s conventional ideals that pursuing a university degree will guarantee happiness and the expectations set by parents.

3:10 "This is the only hard time. Endure it. Do it later." I've heard those words verbatim all through my school years. Even though my family moved to America after elementary school, the same saying and mentality came along and continued. Numerous times, my parents told me that once I'm an adult, I can do whatever I want. Turns out, that wasn't the truth. After college is graduate school, then climbing to the top on whatever "doctorate"career that follows. It would never end! I had to throw hands and walked away from grad school, which I got a lot of criticism and guilt from my parents and extended family from Korea. This song, definitely helped me to deal with some of that.

this song is particularly talking about the education system in Korea. the lyrics "in Seoul to the SKY" stands for the most prestigious/ best universities in Korea (Seoul/ Koryo/ Yonsei University).

I really love this part: "In Seoul to the SKY, would parents be happy?" You would think they are talking literally about just the sky but that's also how people in Korea call the top 3 universities in the country. SKY is an abbreviation made of the first letters of Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University, which are all located in Seoul, that's what most students aspire to (or rather what their parents want)

Thank you for reacting to their old stuff. It wows me to see their messages about self love and encouraging people to follow their dreams have been consistent from the beginning. I recommend Attack on Bangtan and Paldogangsan from this album. They're quite fun to listen to and watch their live performances.

I love this song and mvideo! They are singing against the very oppressive korean education system and parents considering their children a failure if they are not number one and whenever they can't enter in the considered best Universities. That's why their suicide rate between 8 and 25 years old is the highest in the world. And the fierce competition combined with a hiper sensitivity to what other prople say and think about them lead to many idols suffer from depression and take the ultimate decision. And the society don't take actions to change this situation. It's so so sad. 😢

Hello Bryan! You’re my favorite reacting to BTS’s songs. I really enjoy your comments, your facial expressions, and I follow you since you didn't know the names or recognize the faces of the BTS members and you brought your aunt ARMY to the channel as a guest. You’re admirable!!! I like you so much as a KZbinr.

You choose great live, like I love it. I love thier tour with live band. But it is live without whole choreo, you had last part, but I think you should watch one with full choreo, this are great lives too, there is actually one from award show in 2019 (? If I remember coreclly) Also I love this album, "Intro" and "We on" are my favorite songs from this album. But all songs are bangers like Attack on bangtan, if I rule the world, NO, Cypher, Paldogangsan, Coffee, the ones I wrote before. Like top song from strat to finish. No miss, no skip. Yeah it is one my favorite old albums

This is a clap back to the Korean education system and the amount of pressure it has on teens and pre teens. The suicide rate among kids in Korea is one of the highest in the world. Countries like Korea, Japan, Singapore have cram schools where kids go AFTER regular school and most of these go on until 11 pm, especially for seniors. It’s heartbreaking. A study of exchange students showed that the average Korean student scores above students from Western education of the same grade, however, the price they pay is their childhood and happiness. I’ve always felt bad about this, even before I found BTS. I used to watch Japanese and Korean dramas and I see cram schools a lot in these. Their first songs were all about empowering the youth to dream their own dreams and stop following unbearable standards as well as pointing out the folly of the older generation that makes all these unbelievable standards and expectations.

Hello Brian I love old songs, because that's where everything starts. Despite the fact that their concept and lyrics at that time did not allow them to enter the market, and only received censorship and cuts, they followed their conviction and did not stop writing, producing and singing real things. BTS was a real thorn in the side of many. Thank you so much for watching and reacting to his first albums. Please don't forget about, The Last, Mama and Otsukare 🙏🙏🙏. Thank you good day 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I am so glad you enjoyed this song. It is one of my favorites of their "older" songs. From the message, to the way they created the MV, to the song itself. It's great. I also love Jimin showing off his Marshal Arts skills in this song, Jins, Jimin's, and V's sweet tones in the singing and the rapping of RM, Suga, J-Hope, and JK are fantastic. Heheheheeh I have a funny feeling you might be right about them going places 😜. Enjoyed the reaction as always. i know you spend a lot of time on the recording, but if you have some time off camera, just for your own knowledge, I'd look this song up in Doolset. It's really nice to sometimes get some context for us who are not Korean.

I wrote down all the lyrics and learned it sing along 😂😂 (Not the rap parts obviously) Thankyou for reacting to BTS ❤ Btw I was wondering have you reacted to all the songs from Love Yourself? Just for clarity, there are 3 albums in that series, and each have some songs added new. Because as far as I remember, you haven't reacted to So What, Love Myself, may be Mikrokosmos too (idk if it's from map of the soul or love yourself era 😵💫)

GenX is like the cast of the brat pack movies of the 80s (The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, St Elmo‘s Fire, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Pretty In Pink, etc) It’s goes ~ *Greatest Generation/WWII GI Generation *Silent Generation *Boomers *GenX *Millennials *GenZ
