this was definitely a sexier concept for Mamamoo. Kpop is very concept driven - so you will get groups putting out quite different styles of music while retaining their particular flavor. If you watch Red Velvet 'Dumb Dumb' or 'Red Flavor' and compare them to 'Peek-a-boo' or 'Bad Boy' you'd almost think they were different groups - Mamamoo's "1cm (Taller than you)" is a parody hip hop concept where they diss each other for being short even though there is barely a centimeters difference in their height. "Um Oh Ah Yeah" and "You're The Best" are both great songs/MV's and are different again. - welcome to the black hole of kpop lol

yeah mamamoo is an older group so they don't do the cutsey stuff you see with twice. mamamoo is actually known as a vocal group since all four of them are strong vocalists although for some song genres (like this song) you can't really tell. many girl group members are there just for visuals so there might only be a couple of good vocalists in each group. I'm not really a fan of mamamoo but I've seen enough of them singing to know they would destroy 90% of other girl group members if up against each one on one in some competitive format. since you like putting in gifs, need to make one of of honan going 'ooooO' during that scene of solar (the blonde laying down in the colorful one piece) lol ;*)

First a Mamamoo recommendation for some guitar trivia and to show you what their powerhouse vocals & rapping can do with a western song from the 60's you probably know: their performance of Tom Jones' Delilah on the tv show Immortal Songs 2. This song is the main single from the album Red Moon, which is the 2nd of an epic 4 album project Mamamoo is doing this year. Each album has a theme color & season, includes a solo song by one of the members, and the title of the album refers to that member. MMM has talked about using the 4 seasons and the 4 colors they've chosen as a means to explore different sides of themselves as artists. Red Moon = red, summer & Moonbyul, the primary rapper in the group. Egotistic is the Red song on the album, using the steamy sensuality of flamenco & reggaeton to express the qualities each member associates with red that we see in the MV: Solar (pole dancer, leader of MMM) = sexy, strong; Hwasa (w/jaguar, youngest member aka maknae) = fierce, uninhibited; Moonbyul (throws chair) = angry, confident; Wheein (fire starter) = tough, bad ass attitude. The lyrics are about taking a stand and defining themselves as independent women rather than as satellites of the lover who is so egotistic it makes them 'see red' with anger. Mamamoo has been super underrated over the years . They are amazing and in my opinion, they have the best vocals of any girl group in Kpop at the moment. They remind me of 2ne1. They are not afraid of their sexuality or being too edgy. Mamamoo needs to keep creating more music and solos . You guys should watch Hwasa’s “Twit” video.

They have other videos that are not too sexy. You can try and watch 'Um Oh Ah Yeh' or 'You're the Best'. This group is known for their great vocals, they do very good blendings and so much better sounding when they do live performances. Also, what fans like about them is that they are crazy and goofy behind the camera, unlike other girl groups who are reserved. They are not too older than Blackpink, their youngest is 23 and oldest is 27 (Blackpink's ages range from 21 to 24, I think), but definitely older than Twice, as some of Twice's members are still in their teens. There are other sexier groups than Mamamoo. Some examples are EXID, Sistar or Girl's Day, though they have cutesy concepts, too. KPop groups' MV, choreography or overall theme would depend on the concept they wanted their fans to see for the album they are promoting, so if yo watch all their vids, sometimes you would not recognize them.

Yes mamamoo is a bit older, but you must know that groups are not attached to an specific style in kpop. Twice has a bunch of sexy dance stages as many other "cute" groups do. It can make you confused since groups make a cute comeback and then a sexy one with few months of difference... Mamamoo is not originally a sexy group, but known for being formed by four amazing vocalists. This song doesn't show much, but they are amazing powerhouse vocalists, except for the rapper. Mamamoo is probably the most talented vocal girls group right now. All the members can sing, and sing live incredibly well. They are often asked onto the more serous music programs like "immortal song 2". They just have incredible voices. Even their rapper could be a strong vocalist in most groups

Mamamoo are one of the most diverse girl groups in kpop when it comes to music and concepts, they literally have done every genre out there from jazz to ballads to hip hop and now reggaeton. but what they are MOST known for is their amazing vocals and stage charisma which i think is what really sets them apart from other groups. to fully see this i recommend Delilah, a cover that they performed on Immortal Songs 2 which is a singing competition where they invite famous/skilled korean artists to cover a song from a specific artist. they’ve visited Immortal Songs many times but Delilah is arguably a fan favorite. Other than that i highly recommend Starry Night, Yes I Am and Decalcomanie. Hope to see more reactions soon!

Hyuna and gain are also some kpop artist who have a much more sensual provocative style. Check out Troublemaker now, hyunas lip and hip, and gains lost paradise and you'll see what I mean. Troublemaker was a subunit of hyuna and an 8dol named junhyung (think I'm spelling it correctly)

MAMAMOO music videos are hit-or-miss sometimes for me. But that's usually because they cover quite a wide range of music genres, and the style depends on the director of the MV. Egotistic, to me, was them experimenting with a new style, so isn't one of their best MVs. Their best MV was probably either You're the Best (for fun pop), or Starry Night (for artsy music). But their live performances are where MAMAMOO really shines. I find that the best introduction to MAMAMOO is usually their live performances on the Immortal Songs 2 show (where current singers sing rearranged covers of hit songs of the past).
