@@pietroba2037 È una sperimentatrice nata. Non sarebbe chi è oggi se non fosse la "scienziata vocale" che è. È chiaro che poi non tutte le ciambelle riescono col buco e che ognuno ha i suoi gusti, ma lei ne è ben consapevole e va per la sua strada. Secondo me va ammirata anche per questo.

“Sei carina, pensa a cantare. Lascia stare la scrittura.” Avevo quindici anni e quelle parole mi fecero venire una gastrite che durò per dei mesi. Avrei dovuto lasciar stare anche la produzione, gli arrangiamenti, la curiosità per tanti strumenti, perchè era tutto troppo. Sarebbe bastato sorridere, “mettermi carina”, cantare bene e “tenermi da conto”. Queste sono state le parole di un produttore maschilista in cui sono inciampata prima ancora dei miei esordi. Per me sono state solo altra benzina, amara si, ma pur sempre buona per spingere ancora più giù l’acceleratore. A ventisette anni mi trovavo a Zurigo in studio con Tina Turner per registrare la sua voce, perchè ero la produttrice del brano che avevo scritto per il nostro duetto e ne curavo quindi gli arrangiamenti e anche tutti gli aspetti tecnici della registrazione. Lei mi disse “Sono molto orgogliosa di te, donne come te stanno cambiando il mondo. Quando ero giovane io, quello che stai facendo tu oggi qui con me sarebbe stato impensabile". Non lasciamo che nessuno ci dica che questo non è il nostro posto. - Le parole di Elisa che oggi compie 44 anni 👏🏼

It always baffles me the power some people have in their voice... and I don't mean vocal power, I mean the power to summon emotions into you. Out of nowhere. One moment she's just a thin woman like any other, but then she starts to sing and you're brought to somewhere else. Instantly. ...it also helps that this is one of the most beautiful songs ever.

Wow! That was quick! :D Thank you Ang for responding. What did I tell you? Isn't she amazing (and amazing is just a word...) Elisa is this and much more than this, she writes music, lyrics, plays multiple instruments like piano, guitar, flute, percussions and of course she sings! At the same time she's the humblest and most down to earth person you can imagine, funny and even weird in her own peculiar way, her laugh is contagious :D. That's her husband on guitar, btw. PS: There's a very sweet story attached to this performance: Halleluya was her granfather's favourite song and he was the one who first introduced her to music and singing, being himself a very good singer, although not a professional. When L.Cohen passed away she decided to cover Halleluya to honour both him and her grandfather.

This is actually a Leonard Cohen’s masterpiece, superbly interpreted by Jeff Buckley, who passed really really too soon. But Elisa, a great young Italian voice, has made honor to this milestone of music. Period. If you’ll ever listen to an Angel, it will speak with her voice. The rare thing in her, besides the obvious, is that she’s 100% Italian, but she became famous since she was young by singing in a perfect english, which made her across the music international panorama.

Funny how, after this version of the song became famous in Italy, many couples have wanted it performed at their weddings. In churches. And some priests who do not allow other songs in English to be played, because they’re not sure if the lyrics are appropriate, welcome this song just because of its title/chorus. Fun fact: in the late nineteenth century I played at a small indie music festival where Elisa was playing too (in another band). She played bass and sang “backing vocals” , and when she sang (just those few notes) you could already see that she belonged in another league!

I've been lucky to go to her live performances twice and I cannot explain how I felt at the end of it. She hits you deep down. I listen to her music since I was ten and after 15 years she's still the best. She can sing opera, pop, rock at same time with the same grace and intensity. Happy you find out she exists.
