LYRICS: "TEX" - LITFIBA Surrounded by the desert around me the silence cuts the whole city Great spirit calls me from the bonfire` Oh, What do you say? Your freedom Oh, what the fuck are you saying? We already had it. Day and night, night and Day Without way My people are like an eagle without wings You ride, ride my cowboy May the Earth so steal from us Ah, what the fuck are you saying? Your freedom Oh, What do you say? We already had it. I don't want any more friends, I just want enemies. I don't want any more friends, I just want enemies. Enough of your lies You ride, ride my cowboy Let the Earth so fuck us Ah, what the fuck are you saying? Your freedom Oh, What do you say? We already had it. I don't want any more friends, I just want enemies. I don't want any more friends, I just want enemies. Enough of your lies You ride, you ride Yeah
@kino_61 Жыл бұрын
I'd like to correct a mistake: "cavalca, cavalca mio cowboy Che la terra intanto ce la fotti a noi" is not "ride, ride my cowboy let the earth so fuck us" It should be translated as "ride, ride my cowboy The land you steal is our" (the natives) The last verse, in Italian, is said in a way that conveys the ruthlessness and injustice of the cowboy (white colonizers)

This is a kind of "love song for Native Americans" (Tex is a famous Italian comic book character). Ghigo Renzulli is the best italian guitarist, in my opinion! Anyway I love this song but my favourites are "L'impossibile non esiste", "Gioconda", "Maudit" and "Ritmo #2". I suggest you to listen them with English subtitles. 👍

Litfiba started new wave and then veered to what they called "med (mediterranean) rock". You can like it or not (some anglo rock fans in Italy found it cringey) but it's definitely unique. This song mocks cowboys and take the POV of American natives whose land got stolen. Anyway, there would be no Damiano David without Piero Pelu'. Most Italian rockers either have "cantautori" vibes or they're dark grungy types. Pelu' has always been the odd lizard, an actual performer. In an hypothetical genealogical line of italian rock, he's definitely Damiano's grandpa.

Thank you for this reaction, congratulations, in 90's the Litfiba singer, Piero Pelù was called "il Jim Morrison italiano" (the Italian Jim Morrison), he's fantastic in concert, pure energy. This song is dedicated to the Native Americans, the title of the song is taken from Tex Willer, a famous italian comics. Other amazing songs by Litfiba are "Lulù e Marlene", "Re del silenzio", "Apapaia", "Cuore di vetro", "Maudit", "Fata Morgana", "Animale di zona" and many others.

I LOVE litfiba. They are from my mother town, Firenze, as a florentine who lives in the US you have no idea how much i love the fact that you like their songs. I have been lucky enough to meet Piero Pelù (the singer) few times when i still lived in Italy. He is such a character, i love him, charismatic and funny. He used to go to a rock club in Florence, that unfortunately is not open anymore, to check out young rock bands and maybe help them out, i saw him there a lot. Bring back so many memories. Thank you!!!!

Great to see you reacting to italian music. I might said that I've been like 3 years now in a row listening to just italian music and I can confirm that the best music is there. You can find any type of artistic mysticism in each single band. I highly recommend you get to stick more around with this vibes. Some true underrated bands that have been on my thoughts (and now in my heart forever) throughout my journey are: Prozac+, 99 Posse, Subsonica, Afterhours, Sick Tamburo, Rezophonic, Scisma, Il Genio, Bluvertigo, Timoria, Caparezza and many more! Keep digging my friend. Ciao

As I said before I've been at one of their concerts in 1994: crazy live energy, I don't know how to express it, but he was truly there, connecting with the audience... at other band concerts (for example U2) there were no connection and it seemed like watching a long videoclip... Anyway, never thought of him like the "italian Jim Morrison", but in a certain way you're right. It's a pity there are no lyrics, you're losing a really great part of it (especially in "el diablo"). Please consider for the next video in looking for a video with lyrics. Love your passion for music. Take care ;)
