Before hearing this cover, I enjoyed Death's cover the most. But Lovebites are just built different. Miyako & Midori are the best dual leads ever, in my opinion, and by default then they do the solos better than Priest did. This song to me is like what the movie Terminator 2 was to the original Terminator - the sequel was better. I know some will say you can't replicate Rob's voice, and that's 100% true. This song to me was more of a tribute, not a cover, because save for a few bars, this was done true to the original. And I think it's better than the original which is a kick ass song on its own.

In all honesty, everything Lovebites did in this song equals or exceeds the original, except for the vocals - Rob Halford is untouchable in that regard. Asami still put out a great effort. Love it. I think she would sound even better live like she usually does.

Nobody ever realizes how long the original song is til they hear this version. ✌🤘 (I believe the Guitar tone is Heavier/Crunchier in the Lovebites version).

Great reaction. Priest is an iconic band in Japan like Purple, Zeppelin, Floyd, Maiden, or Queen. Fleetwood Mac and Canned Heat are in my personal list additionally. Try another cover song by Lovebites, Eagle Fly Free of Helloween kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqCVYnt_gb-pj6c. Your tongue will slip again.

Vocals come down to personal preference, but musically, I think the LOVEBITES version is better than the Priest original (especially Haruna's drumming). I think they covered it because "Painkiller" is simply one of the best Speed/Power metal songs ever written.
