I was lucky enough to live in VA when they did a couple New Years shows here (DCs 930 Club, Cville's Jefferson Theatre). Such a fun experience, the way the whole vibe of the "venue/outside the venue/downtown mall" area changed reminded me of old Dead shows/shakedown st and all that

The first time I heard of this band was at riotfest, I'm standing in line for over an hour for some lemonade and I glace over to the stage their playing on and see a fucking circus. I still regret not being in that crowd, looked like chaos in the purest form

This band is amazing live. They have an energy on stage that doesn't come through on their records. One of the best examples of that is the NPR Tiny Desk Concerts episode they did. It is pure joy. First time caller, first time listener haha thank you for reacting to my fav "Drunk Song" and also giving the meaning of the song...I mean...NOW...the vid makes more sense..."LETS ALL JUST START WEARING PURPLE!" WHEEE! but nvr knew the backstory... Also....the after thought. The post vid....talk. DUUUUDE! I ....didn't know there was a thing for this. I always go for my race....heh...all my amazon purchasesesesss are giving to the Native Americans out there...but...WHOA! You just opened my eyes. And it's something i've always known....[I live my life as...JUST BE A DECENT HUMAN!] theres atks...on every color, every gender identity, every religion...whats common amoung them? MUSIC! and when people are getting bullied cos of MUSIC...or clothes...or basic the way they walk!...it's basic. It's people being horrible to other ppl...and...that's not Godly. js. I saw the band in Tampa. One of my co-workers, a student from our office in Germany who was taking a break from school invited me to see them. He let me hear a little of them and it sounded interesting so I said "Sure." They were performing in an old theater missing all of the seating and I suddenly realized we were supposed to stand during the whole thing. OK. We got there early and stood down front by the stage. Soon, the place was packed. When the band started, I was forcibly ejected from the mosh pit about 50' to the rear. Meanwhile, my friend spent the entire concert in the mosh pit, eventually losing his shirt in the process. Don't get me wrong. This was the greatest concert of my life. I enjoyed every high energy minute of it.

I saw these guys at leeds festival one year .. 2005 or 2006... in the little tent, was sooo awesome. commanded the crowd. ps.. they also played with madonna at live 8 @ wembley statium

The name of this band sort of rings a bell, but I had never heard a song, their story, etc. Sounds like they might be fun/artistic live. My favorite Gypsy music is by guitarists: Django Reinhardt and Rosenberg Trio (who are very much Django Reinhardt inspired). Sax in rock/metal ? First that came to mind for me is: Prince and Pink Floyd (in part because Candy Dulver, who is Dutch where I'm from, played with both) Now for the other topic: So I had bought the latest Metal Hammer magazine because it has Babymetal on the cover and a big article/expose. Yes, I came to your channel because of them. But when I was flipping through the magazine, my eye caught on something else: "Why is their an article on Coronation Street ?" Then I noticed they did something on inspired by Sophie Lancaster. Immediately I had to find your channel and tell you. Because I knew you feel strongly about the topic and the foundation because of your Babymetal reactions. The article mentioned they worked with her mother and the foundation.

Songs with Saxophone, there must be many! "Turn the Page," "Walk on the Wild Side," "Brown Sugar," "Born to Run" (and anything by Springstein), and so on. By the way, Gogol's Eugene Hütz is Ukrainian born and has been standing up for the Ukrainian cause. "Wanderlust King" and "American Wedding" are both bangers - much more high-energy than this one. Even better, "Immigraniada" hits hard with a true punk spirit.

Pretty poor taste that you would choose Gogol Bordello as your platform to monologue about the discrimination the people who listen to "alternative music" face when the Gypsy/Traveller /Romanti community is openly discriminated against throughout Europe. You have anti-Gypsyism laws in the UK, FFS. But SURE. Use a Gypsy band as your soap box so you can explain "real" discrimination. Just understand that when you're doing so, you are dismissing the single ethnic group whom it's considered acceptable to be openly racist about.

I talk about discrimination in EVERY video I make and I personally discriminate against NO ONE. So don't you go getting on your high horse thinking I'm using this band only to talk about the discrimination against people of the alternative community only when you know nothing about me. My ex wife and her family are descended from romani gypsy and I was part of their family for over 11 years. So don't you go preaching to me about things when you know nothing about my personal life or beliefs. And you're working on the assumption that I support the gypsy/romani/traveller discrimination that our government has put in place. I'll tell you this right now. Our government is a bunch of bumbling, bloviating buffoons who care nothing for the common man and are only interested in making themselves richer. Just because my country has laws against such things doesn't mean I approve or support it. So before making your presumptive comments, be sure you have your facts right.
