@@MetalJesusRocks When those were new I debated hard getting one and never did, wish I had broken down when they were on sale and being phased out. Finally got one last year. They are neat for sure, and some games let you do 2 player where instead of 3d, each person just gets their own screen through the 3d glasses by syncing only to the alternating frames, so looking to try that when my kids get older. Not the greatest screen quality and is quite glossy/reflective, but it is cool having a PSP Go looking monitor.

worth noting that MS is making permanent price drops across 3 waves before server shutdown. The first one is in effect, it’s best to buy games the week before shutdown when all the digitals are 80% off. The next 2 waves of price cuts will be June 18th and July 16th.

Pro tip: If you come across used Xbox 360 memory cards at your local game store, consider buying them for a chance of finding digital games saved on them. The move data option tells you its transferable. I bought two for cheap and happened to get Worms. Not a expensive one, but something.

Spend 5-10 dollars for a small chance to get digital only crap... that you still won't own? Not a very wise investment. Just save that money and buy a physical copy. If it's a digital only game then atleast you'll have long term rented it until they shut down access.

Just today's yard sales picked up Golden Eye 007, Folklore, The Simpsons Game sealed, 3D Dot Game Heroes sealed and MARVEL Ultimat Alliance 2 for PS3 grand total $12CAD. Then another yard sale had 6 TurboGrafx-16 games with the actual boxes (not just the CD style case) for $30CAD Bonk's Revenge, Blazing Lasers, Devil's Crush, Yo, Bro, TaleSpin and Splatterhouse. There was a reseller pretty much following us and he hit a yard sale before us and got Little Sampson nes, Bonk's Adventure nes and Restaurant Panic in the box for $15CAD. I was like nice fuckin' score. He beat me to the next yard sale but I have a keen eye for games and movies. He walked right by an entire box of Wii game and when I stopped he noticed and turned around. He was like "Damn walked right by it" I just continued looking through. The Wii games were $2 each or 7 for $10. There was about 40 games in the box and I asked the seller what they wanted for the entire box and they said $20? I had made sure beforehand that the discs were in each case and checked the more rare titles and ended up paying $20CAD for these notable gamesData East Arcade Classics, Dokapon Kingdom, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Mario Party 9, Klonoa along with the more common Nintendo games Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Kirby, Donkey Kong Country, Paper Mario, Zelda Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword.

I agree 100% on these picks for the 360. One of the great things about this era of 360 gaming was that new games came out frequently that lent themselves to co-op play. Renegade ops is a good example. Hydro Thunder is one of my all time favorite racers on the 360 and the Dreamcast. Hydro Thunder is one of the reasons I keep a working 360 plugged in and ready.

What turned me off Ridge Racer Unbounded, on PC, was the randomness of the AI. You'd race the same track multiple times, and be brutally defeated, suddenly, on the next try, the AI would simply let you win. Like, just let you win really easy.

I’ve been going nuts lately on XB360 digital purchases. Up to 162 digital only games. Only 1 I’ve purchased that has a physical is Onechanbara but that’s because it’s way overpriced now for what it is. Also been purchasing a tonne of DLC. Recommend Black Knight Sword by Sudo51. Hidden gem I never see anyone talk about. Same developer as Killer is Dead, No More Heroes and Killer 7.

Hey MRJ thanks for making a second video about this! I'll comment again some extra helpful info is only really need to buy games not on X1/XSX. All those games will be purchasable on X1/XSX after the XB360 store goes down the catch is you don’t “own” them for XB360. Another thing is a lot of games have compatibility packs / TU data packs that are free but still require a “purchase” in the store it’s unknown what will happen to theses packs.

My biggest problem with this List is only 2 or 3 of them ACTUALLY matter and it feels more like a list of games MetalJesus really likes that happen to be on the console (nothing wrong with that just...not what I expected). And before people rip me apart, allow me to explain. This should be about games that you won't be able to play again when the store is shutdown, but the majority of the list...isn't that. Fatal Inertia has a physical you could pick up, yes it is on the expensive side for a 360 game, so I would recommend getting the Digital, but it will still exist after. (Its also still on the PS3 store) Raystorm HD recently got a combo bundle of Raystorm and RayCrisis for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, so its not going anywhere. 1942 Joint Strike is Digital only but is also on PS3, so it has a little bit more life. Eternal Sonata released Physically for both 360 and PS3 with the PS3 although being much harder featuring content not in the 360 version. Ridge Racer Unbounded released Physically for both 360 and PS3 and is available through Steam. Warhammer 40K Space Marine released Physically on both 360 and Xbox, GOG sells the original Version, and Steam sells the Anniversary Edition which features all its Multiplayer DLC. And as stated in the Video, Hydro Thunder Hurricane is backwards compatible and Xbox has stated none of the Backwards compatible games are getting removed. "While you’ll no longer be able to make purchases in the Xbox 360 Store or the Xbox 360 Marketplace (marketplace,xbox,com) after July 29, 2024, you’ll still be able to make purchases for Xbox 360 and Original Xbox backward compatible content on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and xbox,com,." So yeah I really wished this video had focused more on digital only content or DLC that will be gone when the store shuts down.

Like, the store shuts tonight -- so I was able to boot up my 360 and get the Crimson Alliance game, its DLC and as a bonus, Rainbow Islands just before closedown. I like Diablo-em-ups - Dungeon Siege III was the first game I played on my PS3 -- so I'm actually looking forward to having a go.

I don't own newer XBox consoles so i don't know if it's playable on them, but keep Tekken 6 in mind if you like fighting games. The console versions have a really elaborate beat'em up mode that features Tekken's fighting game mechanic in it's entirety. You can pick whomever you want and do your labbed combos, wall combos and techs on some NPC's in countless cool levels. It's very close to Street Fighter 6's World Tour mode. That concept never appeared in a Tekken game ever again and that's not very likely to change in the future.

Like you said with Fatal Inertia, you should also mention Tornado Outbreak. That is an expensive physical game that can still be bought digitally. It is a lot of fun, it is a Katamari clone. Side note, it is a shame we never got that physical release for Hydro Thunder, but to me, it is more of a shame Offroad Thunder has fallen to obscurity.

I'm actually not really too concerned myself about the Xbox 360 Store closing in July though, especially being that I've never purchased any digital games before for my Xbox 360 console since I don't have any digital games on the system, but it'll still be a shame once the online storefront finally does close even though the Xbox Live network will still be active for the time being and games can also still be redownloaded and all. I have an Xbox 360 myself, but all of the games that I have for the system are all physical copies of games though since I don't have any digital games at all on the system.

Crimson alliance has always been been a favorite of mine. I downloaded it bank in the day and was shocked it was free because I enjoyed it so much. It was touted as the next big game after bastion. I remember running into the paywall though when I realized I couldn’t progress and had to buy the whole thing. Years later I saw you could just buy “characters” which is kind of nuts to think you can have a character locked version, very fun co op game though that needs more love

I'm glad I bought some digital versions of certain titles that were backwards compatible before they were delisted on the Xbox Live Marketplace. For example, all the Halo Digital Versions for the Xbox 360 aren't available anymore, etc. I bought certain titles when I still had a Xbox 360. Just glad they transferred over with my digital library. Thanks for the video!

If you do a part 3, I hope you mention Dust: An Elysian Tail and Super Meat Boy. Dust: An Elysian Tail is a really charming Castlevania inspired action game with a great art style. True labor of love. I know Super Meat Boy is available on all platforms these days, but the 360 version and the PC version are the only ones that have the original (and far superior) soundtrack.

I found Fatal Inertia around a year or so ago for like 7 or 8 bucks in a game store, complete with the correct registration card, everything in great shape too! I feel so fortunate, most things in most youtubers' recent 360 lists of games to look out for, I luckily already have aside from like 3 or 4 things, and then a small handful I don't want to play, so whatevs on those, but ya thank the gaming gods and my interests :P I love Spider-Man, so I already have all the pricey ones on PS3 (and Friend or Foe on 360) cuz I made it a point when they were cheap to find every Spider-Man there was since S-M2 on PS2, I'm still missing a few older games, but I'm going for every Spider-Man game i have a console for. I only picked up Bullet Witch in a Santa Cruz record store because it had a poster, otherwise I was debating if I liked the just above budget price or not :P I've had Tornado Outbreak, WarTech, King Kong, Armored Core V, Akai Katana, Deadfall, Trials/Limbo and the 3 Xbox Arcade multipacks, Akai Katana cuz Gamestop at one point had em for 1 to 4 bucks! I'm glad I noticed there was an Ultimate Alliance Gold Edition to replace my standard copy when I did, cuz I accidentally swooped in on a $15 copy right as it started climbing toward the heavens! I have very similar luck with my PS3 and Wii collections, I now know what it's like for everyone who's had their amazing older games collections since before those things were expensive and hard to find. I only got Fatal Inertia because I try every Wipeout/F-Zero hover racing game i can, I honestly thought it was gonna be a budget title with bad controls, but I loved it right away! The game(s) I found too late but loved on 360 were the Section 8 games. Prejudice is a digital only release. The single player is okay, but multiplayer was so much fun. I still love it with bots. My favorite fps from that time. It reminds me of Tribes, Battlefield, and Halo. You spawn by shooting down from the sky. You earn points to call in different vehicles and stationary defenses (including mech suits). And there are random side objectives that actually matter and make each match feel unique. Love those games, especially Section 8 Prejudice!

There’s a physical arcade cabinet of Hydro Thunder at Pinball PA near where I live. I feel excited that Metal Jesus mentioned that game! I want to get better at it. Space Marine was perfect on the Deck. I think he mentioned Mini Ninjas in another video, also was good on the Deck. The Deck probably has been used by me to attack the PS3/360 era backlog the most, haha. Perfect for it since you can reduce the TDP and extend battery life.

There is one huge issue that I realized. Downloaded purchased game artwork is tied to xbox live. If you play offline all of the box art is grayed out. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't understand why it is not cached to the hard drive. Did they ever fix this?

Really happy to see Ridge Racer Unbounded get some love. It's a great game. As you say, very different to all the prior Ridge Racers, but take it on its own terms (or as a companion piece to Split/Second) and you'll have a great time.

I really enjoyed Eternal Sonata though I remember feeling that the ending just came out of nowhere, giving me a somewhat rushed feel to the ending. (no idea if that was actually the case or not though). The PS3 version of the game has some extra content, but I've never played it so don't know how much, or good, that extra content is. Also, if you make good use of the camera, you'll never lack for money, I could always buy the best equipment for everyone when I arrived at a new shop simply by selling pictures.

I've a question. Does this store shutdown include DLC? So, for example, let's say you've a physical base Skyrim game on xbox 360. Will DLC still be purchasable and downloadable after this closure date?

Yes DLC as well. If it’s not backwards compatible, buy it before the shutdown.

I wish they'd bring Dungeon Defenders to current gen. That's a great game. I have a 360 hard drive with a lot of games saved on it but I don't have a 360.

I only found out about this in the last week. MS sure didn't make that PSA about it last August well known. I'm into Skyrim and Tomb Raider types of games. It is the extra upgrades and addons that can hurt the wallet. Skyrim V has new game maps at $20 a piece when a used Legendary edition goes for $25 at a local store. Xbox really needs to combine the game and all the extras together for a fair price if you ask me. I find the game add-on library and prices have been stagnant for many years. Upgrading the plain Darksiders 2 can hurt as well as Oblivion IV. Maybe with enough public outcry they will keep it open.

7:40 the extra mode you mention was originally in the PS1 port of raystorm; the ray'z collection is a more pure arcade version as for HD version itself on 360: the change of screen estate to 16:9 changes things around so fans of the game do not recommend this version at all

13:31 Honestly, I think this is a pro not a con for racing games. I don't want to win every race and challenge without issue. I want my ass to get kicked on a random level because I've overlooked an important mechanic or haven't been thorough enough with my routing or drifting. Interesting list.
