It was so enjoyable watching your creative process. It reminds me of Mica Shift that happens with clay that is believed to have real texture and depth. Just love it. You were so at ease with this and able take it where it led you, and pointing out the “whys” along the way. Did yours dry this way? Thanks for sharing!
@shelbyprice70814 жыл бұрын
Than you Monica, yes it dried beautifully. I really never know what I will get I just let the paint lead the way. It can save many a boring pour. Sometime it only take one pull to make a very pretty painting.

@Shelby Price You just got a new subscriber here! This popped up in my feed and I'm so glad! This piece is absolutely exquisite. I love art that gives me an illusion of depth because I have no depth perception. I had two eye surgeries when I was young, but to no avail. There are some works of art which help me to imagine what it must be like to see things in 3d and this one is just wonderful! Thank you for sharing this. 💖

This is stunning. Are you dipping your chain in new paint each time you pull?
@shelbyprice70814 жыл бұрын
There was a lot of paint on the surface from the pour so at first I just used a the chain without paint. Later in the video I add what ever color I wanted to accent. Thank you for watching.

@@shelbyprice7081 well I have tryed a chain pull with a dry green background on a med sized canvas with different chain sizes as a test,, with neon pink white and yellow, by putting a line of the Colors in a row,, on a piece of foil , the pink yellow and white,getting the chain completely covered in the paint, and making a sort of zig zag movement with the chain before pulling it slowly the left hand side turned out better than the right hand side I also put a little white rainbow glitter sprinkled on the flowers here and there I was happy with it at first but now looking at it I'm not so sure, I think I may have ruined it, but the Colors are pretty in it, practice makes perfect I suppose💐🌹🌷🌸🏵️🌻ps I thought of an idea using 4 mm and 6 mm beads threaded on a string for a bead string pull I think it would be very interesting to see what result I would get,,not tried that yet
@shelbyprice70815 жыл бұрын
@@angelabarton2551 interesting, I have never tried it on a dry background. Wouldn't think that you could get nice sharp definition to your design that way. I always have a base coat down, either a plain color or a pour that I have tilted most of the paint off of before doing the chain pulls.

Shelby, beautiful. Question. Between colors you touch up with - what? You speed up the video and I can’t tell what you’re using. My best guesses are pipette or paintbrush. Or?
@shelbyprice70814 жыл бұрын
For this painting I would maybe add gold or bronze to my chain if I thought more contrast or greater definition was needed. No brush was used, do use a pipette sometimes to add more paint where I want it. But usually just add it to my chain.

Glad that you enjoyed the video. You can get many beautiful paintings using the chains. Always have your paint a little on the thicker side, otherwise the design will not keep its shape.
