Hi, I'm italian and here we have a plenty of these types of decorative paint... that brand is well known here... Usually we don't use the roller to put the paint on the wall but a dedicate brush called spalter... And usually I use to put a dedicate primer for these decorative paint... If you wanna know more about these paint I'm really glad to help you!

please share. In North America we almost always roll and back brush or back trowel. It is really fast, efficient and easy to manage

Great video Chris. I use extenders with metallic and other faux finishes , typically helps during the application process to keep the uniformity of the finish throughout the wall. Also one neat affect is to lightly rag finish the metallic coating, it also will eliminate access stippling. Finally last idea what you can also do is to use two close shades of metallic paints, a darker first coat then a lighter medium coat will create a lot of depth.

You have great videos on spraying trim, encouraged me to try. How many coats do you spray, and how long between coats?

Hi, I love what you've done and would love to apply it to my new office space, but I'm having difficulty finding suede paint. Do you have any suggestions that I can find in the west coast?

Im wondering what the labor charge for something like this would be vs straight painting. Its been many years since Ive done any faux effects on walls. Where I live we are 35-45 hr for straight painting. Nice to see some specialty finishes come back.

Can this be done over and existing suede finish? I just want to change the color from a golden brown to an almost black.

Does the wall texture limit The coatings or techniques that can be applied? We have some pretty heavy sand textures and what not in my area - so just wondering if that should be sanded off prior to these types of applications.

It does not have to be.

Hey, I noticed in the first coat you used a dry brush to go back after the roller for making random "x" strokes. In the second coat you dipped the brush in the paint tray before making the random "x" strokes... is it just an eyeball type thing or a 1st coat vs 2nd coat technique? Thx for posting as this was very helpful ~

Chris, all your videos is amasing but I have a suggestion for this video! For decorative techniques of this type, use special brushes designed for this (keep your wrist), and put a nylon strap on non-working walls as it can easily destroy the finished wall! :)

Two questions - 1. How do you tint the base? Just take it to any paint store and have them mix in your color? 2. I’m hoping to do more of a sponge effect, do you think the grit or suede would work better? Or would both turn out horribly? Thanks!

Have not tried that method

Hey Chris, your video production has improved over the years, but I can't help but to think that you've got to have some outtakes that happen during your shoots. How about throwing some of those into your videos at the end?

I’m trying to get a new pair of painter pants but haven’t notice Dickie to use the flex mesh material on WHITE work pants - I’m only a 34x32 pant and hate having uncomfortable pants on and restricting movement - yes I wear a belt - what I’m referring to are those pants that have a stretch in the knee and thigh, and it keeps your pants getting pulled down every time you bend down or climbing ladders - I’ll have to usually hike my pants up when I got stuff in hand or have to move and the quarters are tight and my pants snag on something - maybe no one says much on this but I just thought to bring it up I’m not a voice to reach out

to clarify: you paint the wall in personal choice color and then apply this metallic suede as a top coat? Would most people select a transparent for jewel toned walls?

Hi Chris. Thanks for another great video. I am a teacher and am wanting to start up a small painting company on the side during the summer and occasionally during the week. I was wondering what airless sprayer you’d recommend for me starting out. I will just be offering interior to start. I found a Graco 210es on sale. I didn’t know if I needed something that expensive to start out though. Harbor Freight has their Krause and Becker sprayer on sale for $170 right now. If you’d recommend another I am not attached to either. Thanks for any help.
