I have been a Metallica guy since I was a single digit in age, but I started to lose interest after Load. I liked some of Load and Re-load, a few from St. Anger, couple from Death Magnetic, but my all time favorite is the black album, then And Justice For All, Master of Puppets, Ride the Lightning, Kill Em All, Garage Inc., some good riffs on this song, my first time hearing it also. Not sure it will make the playlist, but we will see.

I would love to see you react/review load and or reload. Because personally I THINK you might enjoy them more than back then, if you listen to both of these albums unbased and look at them as songs instead of *_Metallica_*_ The formerly 'thrash band' , is making the absolute opposite music of thrash._ Then its definitely different. I do think both Load and Reload have some ups and downs like there are couple of songs I dont care about, but most of them I personally really like. Maybe it is a time thing, back then they got you waiting for some great thrash just to disappoint and leave you with something completely else that you didnt want from them. But now its not the same situation. So I would be interested in what you think now, Especially Bleeding Me, Fixxxer, Fuel and Until it sleeps are amazing, lyrics wise also.

I can understand what you said about why you don’t like Load and Reload, and I can accept most of your thoughts, but I think you should hear again those albums, I think that they aged well, I mean if you compare that album with some modern bands you can see their influence, for example Ghost, and if you like Ghost belive me is hard to criticize Load and Reload, of course those are not their best, but don’t think that those are bad albums neither, I think you are little attached to the context you lived when those albums come out, but at the same time I think their deserve a second chance, in our modern context. Now, I’m happy you actually liked and appreciated this song because this is actually their less popular song from Hardwired album, but it doesn’t mean that is a bad song, and you clearly can see that, so thank you for your sincere thoughts, one big like for you 👍

I think you should revisit some of the best songs off of Load and Reload - you might be pleasantly surprised at how good they sound now vs back in the day! They seem to have matured well as songs for the most part in my humble opinion!

I really really like Am I Savage..both Load and ReLoad are Amazing records. But to me there are way more enjoyable songs on them than Am I Savage.

Hardwired was a true return to form for Metallica back in 2016 and it definitely goes down as one of the better releases in the vast Metallica discography. My favorite song is absolutely Atlas Rise but the whole album is just really good. I really look forward to checking out their new release! I thought Death Magnetic was that return to form back in the day but the more I think about it I realize that my interpretation of the record was more than anything a sigh of relief that they had totally realized just how awful St Anger really was and had made a complete 180 in direction. Hardwired, however, was the true Metallica record we had all been waiting on since the Black album and it is just really good, especially when you take their age and longevity into account.

I love this song. It's not the catchiest song on this album, but it's the most interesting. I wasn't sure how you would feel about it, especially since you don't listen to the lyrics. I feel as if the odd time and off-kilter feel matched the theme of the song really well. I really liked how you explained how they were making it happen. Another great reaction.

The load and reload comparison makes sense, I’ve drawn that comparison, too. With the exception of the first and last song on Hardwired, the album reminds me of those albums. It wasn’t for me, though, just like those albums. Most songs were slow and plodding, IMO.

This def was a slow burn. I thought it was interesting but not great. It grew on me a bit by the end. It wasn’t until after the solo to the where I finally thought it had a groove. Or maybe heavier. Top half seemed light.

In regards to Lars and his drumming, he has gotten better over the years. It was pretty sloppy in Kill 'Em All, but with each album it did get a little bit better.

I must say I'm surprised by how much you enjoyed this song, considering your well-documented opinion on Load/ReLoad. The Load vibes are definitely strong on this one. On the entire 2nd disc of Hardwired, actually, minus Spit Out The Bone. But you make a great observation there that the Load groove here is merged with the edge and aggression more commonly associated with Metallica. I look at Hardwired as an amalgamation of all their varying styles over the previous 35 years. While Death Magnetic was clearly Metallica trying to recapture their 80s sound, I feel like they also embraced some of their less loved work from the past for Hardwired. I even hear some St. Anger and Lulu influences on "Halo on Fire", but maybe that's just me.

As you said when you get time, but having a review of Load and Reload would be an interesting watch ☺️ Maybe helped if some of those songs came from the S and M album. As I thought Michael Kamen did an amazing job of arranging those orchestra parts around Metallicas riffs,subdivisions etc.

You know, i have seen lots of people in your comment section either disliking or defending st anger and load/reload, but what surprises me is that no one has mentioned LULU, it's like everyone forgot that metallica made that horrible mess of an album, not because of the production, the production is good...but the songs on the other hand..., i'm actually starting to get curious as to when will someone request a song from that album since it seems almost everyone is acting like that thing didn't happen.

That is a Lou Reed album. Lou is the vocalist. Lou wrote all the lyrics. Metallica was the house band. NOT a Metallica album.
