@MatthewBerdyck Жыл бұрын
@@AmosHeller I’ll tell you something I learned about DT, after working with Jordan. They’re not trying to intentionally write difficult music. They don’t really communicate with each other verbally in theory language when they’re writing. I got to ask them about it. They just… are that good, like on a level we can’t imagine or perceive, especially Jordan. John plays 40,000 notes to him and Rudess instinctively doubles and triples it with both hands, like he lives in a musical 4th dimension. I can play, was a child prodigy guitarist and standing next to them and watching them play is enough to make you want to just quit because you’ll never be that good. If you cover a DT song, you’ll probably get invited back stage, if you don’t already know them.
@Andyw1228 Жыл бұрын
They have among the best musicians, because they are all Metalheads, like this one and Nuno Bettencourt. I think there aren’t many musicians that don’t like Metal, because they understand what not musicians do often misunderstand: it’s music and not some noise.

That bass riff at the intro just ripped everything to shreds, imagine that opening the ...And Justice For All album! Imagine that rumbling tone throughout the entire album, it would have been a game changer and a fitting tribute to the mighty Cliff Burton. Metallica is the biggest metal band in the world, toured the world, became a household name, made millions to their names and remastered all their classic albums. It's a shame that they didn't remaster the AJFA album the way Jason Newsted actually recorded it. Big up Amos Heller for doing "Justice" to the song 👊🏼🇧🇩

You'll be happy to know that when Guitar Pro was released, they released the AJFA isolated tracks. Some legend remixed it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJzUhZaCrLqMoJo

Remastering is not the same as remixing. I believe Metallica lowered the bass out of respect for Cliff. It was their way of saying, this is what we sound like without him. I only came to this conclusion recently. This is their best record in my opinion and thats saying alot. If you want to hear the entire album with bass, search “and justice for Jason” here on YT. At least live I got to hear Jason's bass. He absolutely rocked. His bass solo is still the most memorable thing from the show - hunched over this green light, playing sick wah bass. 1990 Wembley Arena. Would love to see J & L give in and remaster Justice with the original bass. I mean, they don't seem allergic to $. Thankfully we get about 26 bassists upload a version of the AJFJ album each year. No because its so loud in the mix you can't hear the actual guitar and the album itself doesn't need a loud bass or actually any of it because this tone sound james created is raw-stomping and hard as hell.
@Pauligrinder Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree, it's too loud for a full mix, but it's a bass cover so it's supposed to be too loud. It does sound awesome though and would definitely fit the mix if it was just mixed into it (aka before all the master compression and stuff).

Metallica desperately need to remaster their old stuff. It would be amazing. And yeah, the bass is turned up purposefully here because it's a bass cover, obviously.
@Pauligrinder Жыл бұрын
I disagree. Yeah, I wouldn't mind a version of ...ajfa where the bass is audible, but they don't "desperately need to" since those albums are already classics and already did the damage back when they came out. New remixes/remasters just won't make any difference at this point, tbh.
