Lars is a great drummer in a way alot of people don't think about. He doesn't overpower the other instruments he lays back in the background. He gives the other guys in the band a chance to shine in every song. When it's his turn he usually does something you wouldn't think fits and makes it fit that's a great drummer to me.

Ironic of you to say that shit in when hes reacting to this album. It actually seems like the opposite.
@davidtingley99783 жыл бұрын
I'm positive most criticism of his drumming is just because of the drummer he's aged into.
@ben1ben3 жыл бұрын
@@davidtingley9978 Yes, it's like that to me for example. He is a shit drummer nowadays with stupid improvised fills and stuff, back in the day he used to stay as close to the studio versions as possible and that made his Drums sound awesome live. A good example is Ride The Lightning (Live at the Day on the Green - 1985) he was Good. It's just the lack of practice that made him miss beats and do shit Improvised fills. Also not having a ride on your kit is one of the dumbest choices ever.
@jaded9234 Жыл бұрын
He tends to overpower the instruments in the mix. (The snare in "Day that Never Comes" is a later example that springs to my mind) Lars's approach doesn't lend itself to tiny details (Fills, cymbal-work) that would necessitate how "close" the drums sound in later releases.

James Hetfield is the rhythm guitarist, also on vocals. Lars Ulrich is the drummer, and he and James write most of the music. Kirk Hammett is the lead guitarist that does the solos, and he also contributes and making some of the riffs and stuff. Then right now their bass player is Rob Trujillo, which used to be Jason Newstead, and the legend Cliff Burton was before him. Dave mustaine also used to be their lead guitarist but they kick him out like way back in the early 80’s cuz he was a drunk and caused too many issues even though he was EXTREMELY talented. He went on to start a new band called megadeth which im sure most have heard of. Hope this helps someone!

I know you love Lars and no doubt he was a huge influence on a lot of us drummers when we were younger. But believe me when I tell you, he has lost several steps over the years. He obviously doesn’t practice. I don’t mean to burst your bubble man, but just look up some videos labeled “Lars drum fails”. There are dozens of them. He has issues playing live. When these albums were recorded, I’m sure you understand that there is a lot of magic that can be done in the studio regarding cutting and pasting fills, riffs, etc. As far as John Bonham goes, Lars isn’t even in the same universe as him. Bonzo was a legend. A phenomenal drummer. Anyways, great reaction!!! Love your channel!!! If you want some good metal suggestions, check out the band Volbeat. Huge Metallica influence there.
