I've seen Metallica live many times, but never with Cliff. He was a bass monster !! Wish he was still around. Its funny, the first time i heard Metallica, i didn't like them. Don't know what i was thinking back then. Good pick Elok . If your Dad is turning you on to all these great bands, he rocks !! Wish i could meet him ....peace from Denver

Cliff Burton was an exceptionally gifted bass player...I was so lucky to watch him live in concert in 1986. At the same show, they played "Master of Puppets". This is the same song that was a huge success for them and also the title track from the 1985 album. At the concert, Kirk Hammet also gave the crowd a 10 minute guitar solo!...great reviews Elok thank you!

Thanks for your reaction. So,, you truly liked Cliff--I was lucky to see him once here in Canada before he died. If you want to watch more: Anesthesia live Chicago 1983, or Anesthesia+whiplash live San Francisco 1983 (Cliff's 2nd gig)--this one was with Dave Mustaine from Megadeth as guitarist. Lastly, you mentioned something interesting--watch Am I evil, the big 4 live Sofia, Bulgaria. You'll see the 4 bands together. Amazing. Have a nice day.

I have never been a very big fan of Metallica and know little of the Cliff Burton era. But I always enjoy your reactions and honest descriptions so I gave this a watch. I am still not a big fan, but I did not "hate" this either...as a matter of fact I think this was the first time I watched a complete video with Cliff Burton included.. I have a new respect for the early days of Metallica now and am in complete agreement with your reaction. Bravo!

Good to see this, new to me. For the next group of kids after the ones who heard Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple Black Sabbath in their teenage years this was THEIR band so they were huge. Took things to more extreme levels in some ways so I can see their appeal. I love the jokes about Cliff, especially his hair playing the bass as he was headbanging, hahaha!

Very good reaction I love the format that you are giving to the reactions like the example of Metallica, keep it up, don't lose the feeling of the following songs from them. Advice: I recommend that you see more of the songs in their studio album format and if you were to enjoy it, it would be spectacular if you would react to how some original arpeggios have changed during their concerts and their evolution in the aspect that they took, the studio album I say it since people ignore the lyrics that carry their songs and only go directly to the instrumentation, one more new subscriber on your channel, greetings.

I have my morning coffee brewed and now it’s time to rock with Elok! 🤘🏻 Metallica were never my cup of tea (I like my metal melodic) but it is cool to see you checking out one of the bands which followed on from the Unholy Trinity. If you think Cliff Burton was a monster bass player, then check out John “Thunderfingers” Entwhistle of The Who. He was the pioneer of the lead bass style, and the live version of “Won’t Get Fooled Again” recorded at Shepperton Studios in 1978 is a great showcase for his virtuosity. Rock on! 🤘🏻👍🏻

That's my girl metallica is often labeled as slash metal or death metal but there not. Metallica is one of them rare bands that create their own genre. That have so any styles to choose from yet you hear one note you instantly know its Metallica..I see you are doing some of there early stuff. Because I see cliff the bassist that died in bus accident..after you watch this one my little rock angel. Watch the live in Moscow 1991 with a mind blowing ONE POINT SIX MILLION People crowd. And you will see a big improvement and more polished band..

He died while he was on the bus, he slept next to the bus window, and the bus they were riding in, fell down the slopes and the cliffs were next to the window thrown out of the bus, and this tragedy occurred when metallica made the tour in 1986, all the metallica members were indeed devastated by the incident, if they had not made the tour, maybe cliff was still alive until now

Elok, I love your reactions but we’re gonna have a problem. let’s fight ... 😉 Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin spawned lots of metal bands which came after. Among these, Metallica was probably the best/most successful, some 15 years later. They put on a big show with lots of head banging with their shaggy hair, a thrashing beat, lots of distortion and extremely loud volume.. But as musicians they don’t come even close to Richie in Deep Purple or Jimmy Page in Led Zeppelin. And likewise for the drummers - not the sophisticated rhythms of John Bonham and Ian Paice, but rather the simple and monotonous drum bashing of the Metallica guy and his friends in other metal bands. It’s a shame how the sound of the original hard rock bands with brilliant guitarists such as Zeppelin, and Deep Purple - and you can add to that Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton in Cream - degenerated into simplistic heavy metal, where the musicians, particularly guitarists, were not in the same class. So when you listen to these metal bands, make sure you listen more deeply and concentrate on their musicianship, rather than just the orgasmic superficial throbbing beat. A tip - you have just about run out of Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. But instead of going further into metal (which I’m sure you will because it’s very catchy), have a look at some of the blues based guitarists such as Jeff Beck (not blues, but from the same place as Jimmy Page), Peter Green (original Fleetwood Mac), Gary Moore, and to bring you right up to the present, Joe Bonamassa.
