@@gokcemetu Curt held big parties with bands inside the shop and then everyone would get up on the roof and watch the sideshow 'til the cops came.

HQ used to be Bartholow Heating & Sheetmetal. We had keg parties and sideshows there before sideshows became cool. Curt Bartholow (rip) was my bff...late '70s, Frank Guerrini would even show up with "the green car" (think yellow '32 in American Graffiti)...it was EPIC. Extensive ballistic testing also went on inside. Curt's dad, Larry, leased the place to David, who built the insane wood interior clamshell roof and all the recording rooms - converted it into the BEST recording studio in Marin...then, Larry sold it to Metallica and died. Curt got involved with the BATFE and hanged himself in a Motel 6...Sad But True.

ESan Surnai I thought that too for a long time. However, if you listen to the production of those albums, they're flawless. He didn't write the music you didn't like. He just turned it in to a good recording. You can only Blame Metallica for the poor songwriting.
