3 weeks after Cliff's death the band was already doing shows again. The show had to go on but they never properly mourned Cliff and Jason paid the price. Also, Jason being a big fan of the band when he joined them didn't make things better as James said it was annoying. The worst thing they did to him was killing Jason in the mix of the Justice album, I will never understand that dick move, James and Lars now admit it was a bad thing and they were never fair to Jason. Nevertheless, Jason was the ultimate pro and took it all like a champ. Trujillo is an amazing bassist, he can do Jazz, Funk, Rock, Pop, World Beat, etc. but he doesn't have the energy Jason had and I get the feel/vibe Rob is just somebody they hired to fill the spot. I don't see Rob bonding with the band that much either.

In a nutshell, AJFA would have surpassed MOP in every possible way, from the musicianship, to the production, but Blackened would sound alot different as the main riff was Jason's idea. But before that Metallica would have completed the MOP tour and would have played Leper Messiah and Orion live in their entirety with Cliff in the band and most likely have had professionally recorded video footage of their concerts from that tour. During the Damage Justice Tour Cliff would have pushed them to play all the AJFA songs live in their entirety, so you would have even heard Dyers Eve, To Live Is To Die and Frayed Ends live during the course of that tour, and played to their full potential. The One video would have Cliff in it and Metallica would have been the most untouchable bands of the 80's.

According to Jason, Metallica treat him alright
@eva-vs1zu5 жыл бұрын
joezygamingYT he had to say that because he was in the band back then. You can see in many, many videos that they were bullying him. Never treated him the right way and it saddens me because he was Metallica for 15 years. He had that energy they needed.

Well i think there are many aspects to considerate. Robert Trujillo is an icon, he has his own, large and vast carreer Before to come into metállica, if metallica treat him like Jason, Robert left the band. World gonna be In Roberts side. I dont think James or lars gonna try to offend him because Robert is an strong and muscular man, jason was a skinny young man I suposse Robert is alredy a rich man Jason wasnt so Jason must stay with those bullys to get his saves... Remember many people cames into a new job with the Dream of been part of something "big" but finally they stay just because the money, is normal and is ok. I think lars is not a musician is just a Business man so Jason never was an icon like cliff or Trujillo, so he could consider him like "the guy" or "the employee" and the last thing... James and Lars are bullys. If people like that are new rich and famous they for sure are narcisitics too. I worked for a year for a narcisitic, bully and new rich man ( like metallica members are) man... I spent almost all my saves in mental therapy after that. So i understand and i support Jason In his decisión to have some peace. P.d. metallica is lucky to have a Limp like Trujillo. They were At the side of the cliff, been without two big musicians like Burton and Newsted, because of that, the gonna smile to Trujillo, even they gonna shine his shoes to make evertthing flows... Do you think metallica would survive to the third bassist lost? Greetings from Perú!

After Jason Left it would've been interesting to see geezer Butler join Metallica.

Trust me. If any member of Black Sabbath joined Metallica in 1992, that would have been a huge honour for them and they'd do whatever it takes to make him part of the family. They definitely wouldn't turn his bass down, or throw pies at him on his birthday.

Man, you can just see it in his eyes that he misses Cliff like crazy. Probably took his addictions/asshole behavior from a 6 to a 14 for about 15 years.

From what I get out of the whole James and Jason thing is that James felt very intimidated by Jason. Jealousy sucks sometimes. Still love James though, but still.
@Chris-lv2wq5 жыл бұрын
He wasn't intimidated, he didn't want to lose him. So he figured if he was going to it was going to be on his terms. Not Jason's. But he was mad because Jason lacked the creativity that cliff had. Jason would watch James play and copy his left hand exactly and that pissed James off. He didn't want this ball of energy and he hated that Jason loved the band. He wanted him to be miserable because that's what they all were. And he didn't want to be looked up to because he felt guilty. They all were that way. They wanted to push him away and it took them over 20 years to do so. The dude was as much a saint as anyone
@MrParkerman65 жыл бұрын
Nothing you said is true, Chris. There is NO proof James ever got mad at Jason for copying his left hand. NONE!!!!
@AdamG19835 жыл бұрын
And what did Jason do? He took it. He didn't lash out or "focking leave the band" at that point yet. Probably didn't complain too much either. And there's nothing a bully hates more than the person they're bullying not let it bother them
@AdamG19835 жыл бұрын
James has said (at least around St. Anger) that his way of loving people has been "squeezing them to death". He felt threatened Jason would leave, so he made it so much worse inadvertently, which made Jason actually leave
@MrParkerman65 жыл бұрын
No! He said the way I learned to love things is to "choke 'em to death". You aren't supposed to use quotes if it isn't exactly word for word, that's the whole point of quotes.
