Man… can’t hold tears more… I’m a Metallica fan since the very beginning, buying Kill’Em All vinyl in ‘83. I’m a 52 year old father of 3 wonderful human beings now. Hearing James talk about purpose and vulnerability is clearly speaking to me. I’m blessed my favorite band since ever is still totally in sync with me, my life and my love for heavy music. Big hug to you James!! Thanks for being human. See you in Montreal in August!!!

I lost my mother when I was 16 and then decided to blame the world for the trauma I went through, if it wasn’t for my father and the rest of my family and my true friends it would of been hard for me to get to where I am at 28 now, but by god did Metallica help me, James helped me so much through those years where I would shut off from the world and just put my headphones on and listen to Metallica for god knows how long, 72 seasons really does resonate with me and it’s reassuring to know we all have our demons, we all have our struggles, we have all been through shit but it’s up to us to shape our life and change our 72 seasons

I first heard Metallica- Kill ‘Em All in 83 when I was 12 and in grade 6 haha ! ( I’m almost 52 now 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻 and still a headbanger 🤪🙂) I still love almost all metal music new or old. I’ve been super lucky over the years to see some unreal shows live ! seen Prong , Sepultura and Pantera in 1994. Such a Killer Show ! ( met Vinnie Paul in 2012 and had him autograph my ‘94 Far Beyond Driven tour concert shirt…18 years later 😄 Vin was really cool, friendly and funny ! 😊 also got to see Black Sabbath in 1999 at Ozzfest , and Ozzy solo 4x and tons more bands pretty much anyone you can list over the years, most of them 3 or 4 times . I have really been enjoying going deeper down the 🪣Buckethead 🤖 rabbit hole ( as I write this I think he’s at 500.+ !!! Albums! Bucketheadland Pikes series + about 80 or more other projects ?) it’s the greatest thing I’ve come across in the last 10 years or so ( maybe ever?) … that dude is so insanely good on a guitar! 🎸 I’ve played for 37 years myself at this point. To Anyone who has never heard his solo music.. You Absolutely Need To ! I can’t even begin to explain how incredible he is… Bucket 🪣 will quite literally Blow Your Mind ! an entire universe of different styles… and he can play them All… Extremely well!🎸🤟🏻🤯🤟🏻 Even after at least 10 years straight of playing his music every day… I am only continually even more amazed all the time at his skill on the 🎸axe 🪓 !

To be able to confront your demons time after time and to admit that you need help makes him such a good role model and blows away the stigma that men shouldn't show their weaknesses and admit their short-comings. I grew up with James and Metallica, and they have meant so much to me over the years. It felt like they left me after St. Anger was released and it became a void in my life until Hardwired which was when I started to reconnect with them again. And now with 72 seasons I feel like they have fully returned and I can truly embrace them again. It is almost like a long lost friend has returned. No idea if any of this would make sense to anyone but myself but my love for Metallica has never been stronger. 72 seasons is the album I have been waiting for for so long (over 23 years), I thought it would never happen but here we are! Their music has always healed me. I had such anger from childhood stuff, and I couldn't put into words my pain. I (luckily) never got into drugs but when I first (saw the video) & heard "One"... something clicked in me. It was like I found my outlet. I'm so grateful for music and especially these guys. They helped through a lot. Seen them about 3 times when I was younger, and it always was the BEST show ever. They're such a giving band playing live!!

Almost a year ago, may 12th, I was in Belo Horizonte, Brasil, watching Metallica. It was my show number 11 and I never saw James so emotional. We are definitely a big family and I'm happy for that.

This man will always be an inspiration to me. His openness and fight to keep on going amidst the world of fame and a kind of unspoken pressure is phenomenal. To some it looks like a dream life, but I can't imagine how incredibly hard it is to keep your shit together in this industry for over 40 years! I'm so grateful for the band, but especially James' resilience. We love you James \m/

WOOOW!❗What a great in-depth interview, Het Pappa being as honest as possible! Just as much as he's been every time when they launched a new Brutalli album! I would be able to rewatch this countless times! Been a fan for 23 plus years and this one has brought me to tears in my eyes! I just love everything related to him and this magnificent band! Het Pappa 4EVER!!!! Thank you for your words and feelings you shared with the fans! My love and best wishes!🎸🤘💜👏

James is possibly the most underrated vocalist in music...his voice has been such an important component of Metallica's success because it's instrumental in and of itself as well as being so unique. There will never be another Het.

1986. Computer class making my name scroll across my TSR-80. Eric gives me a cassette with ‘Ride the Lightning’ scrawled across it. I’ll never forget that. Growing up in the 80’s was just the greatest.

If I wrote an auto biography about my life, it would be roughly ⅓ a metallica biography, because the lessons and inspiration their music has meant to me, is as much a part of me as a family member.

@Lamar Loyde that’s a bit rough maybe I wasn’t to worried about it. How about you stop being so judge mental, it’s not about me. It’s about emotional content, critical thinking and cognitive liberty something James has in spades. So in other words no need to be an asshole. No need to judge my writing ✍️ Or my thoughts as they are positive. I think you should listen to James instead of being a harvester of sorry because you pulled the shortest straw in life. So don’t waste your hate on me keep it for yourself, do you understand !

One of these days, we will all look back on these days and feel privelaged to have been around and growing up with Metallica being around. Just like we cant go back and see Jimi Hendrix in concert, some day kids will wish they could have been alive during these years to have been apart of the Metallica journey.

Some character development on this guy. I fucking love how James keeps growing and evolving year after year unlike some other "rock guys" who are 14 year old rebel kids in a 60 year old guy body. He keeps fucking searching and fighting for truth and growth and life. Just an amazing example. It really goes back to when ppl hated the evolution on lyrics on black album, Load, Reload, St Anger... you should try to reborn yourselfs just as he's done.

Course he never was a stereotypical rock star. The lyrics he wrote at just 21 or so already had a lot of insight and psychological depth.

This group is so amazing. To be as successful as they are, but to remain as humble as they all seem to be. The talent they all individually bring to the table, as well as the love they clearly have for each other continues to blow my mind. I got a little worried during COVID that they might start walking away from the band but when I considered how far they’d all come, I knew that the bond they had as individuals and as importantly as band members, I felt pretty sure they would continue on together. Thank you guys for all the good you’ve brought into this world, and the positive feelings you brought to all of us as your fans. Love this album.

Can't help but admire this man's honesty. As he said, He's living his dream, one that many never achieve, but he retains his humanity and all the flaws that go along with that, despite such commercial success. In his later years, he's found a way to communicate that to people, without embarrassment. or feeling 'weak' for doing so. Clearly a tough sort of guy, but an inspiring person.
