This woman is precious. Everyone should react to this song the way she has. This was metal at it's finest with some of the best to every play it. PANTERA! And... The notes sung with vibrato at the end are all done without auto tune, something you rarely hear any more. These guys were all beasts
@Kriegsbeil5577
@Kriegsbeil5577 12 күн бұрын
And to add to your comments: The engineers and studio technicians in 1990 weren't using "lossless audio" and "ProTools" to mix and layer Pantera's sounds when they finished the album. Those engineers and technicians knew how to make a band sound balanced and how to mix an album. Bands these days are using laptops and all these digital tools to make an album and they sound like shit these days! Nobody knows how to mix anymore!!!!

Funny story on how I got into Pantera. I had asked my grandparents for the most recent Petra (Christian rock) cassette for Christmas. They went to their local record shop and the kid had never heard of them so thought they meant Pantera and set my grandparents up with the "vulgar display of power" cassette, man was that a shock for Christmas, the heaviest thing I had listened to up to that point was the scorpions. A day I'll never forget as it was my first foray into true metal.

In most forms of music, the instrumentation sets the backdrop for the lyrics or helps to better showcase a specific musician, but in every form of metal even the instruments leap forward from the recording to grab at you and tell you this tale. Thats what makes metal special, every musician plays a role, every instrument plays a role, and they all serve the metal. Welcome.

It was actually really fun! She just provided a therapy for us all who never really had a place to express how it affected each of us as even though we all shared in the loss everyone has a personal story and meaning! One song can mean something so different between us and when and where it brings us to and how or why it got us through some moment in time and YET EVERY SINGLE ONE IS CORRECT! IT APPLIES ACROSS THE BOARD TO EACH OF US EQUALLY! And seeing her reaction for me just made it the first time in a long time that I can listen without the sadness I seemed to feel like I was required to carry out of respect and was like Dime & Vin saying through her... it's okay! We know you guys rode for us so it's cool to listen again and laugh, enjoy and get back to smashing shit with a smile! For me anyway! I can only hope the same finds its way to anyone else that might need that as well! She just opened a window I had shut for awhile and said it's cool to let some air in again! I was like.... Oh yeah! Metalhead here and long time Pantera fan. Dimebag (the guitarist) and his brother Vinny (the drummer) started a new band called Damage Plan after Pantera broke up. A crazed fan of Pantera got mad at them thinking they were the cause of Pantera's break up so he rushed the stage during the opening song of a Damage Plan show in Ohio and shot and killed Dimebag along with a couple other people. Vinny died of heart failure a couple years ago. Vinny went on to be in another amazing band named HellYeah. Both are dearly missed for their amazing talent and the really cool people they were.
