Metallica was huge in the metal world. They were already kings. The black album was to bring in the mainstream crowd, that's why they did like 5 videos and slowed their music down to a crunch, it was heavy metal now, not speed metal. That's why the old school Metallica fans like me were pissed. The Metallica we took so much shit for liking by the mainstream crowd in high school....well....now those assholes were listening to Metallica. It's like being a die hard fan of a football team that the mainstream footballs fans don't care about and then when that team suddenly makes the playoffs and they're kicking everyone's ass suddenly EVERYONE is an Eagles fan, or whoever the team is.@@Skoga67dk

Don't understand what your discussion is about? James is a lead singer of Metallica, his manner of singing, presentation has conquered the world..and don't forget that James was recorded 100% of rhythm guitar parts. The fact he can play and sing live recorded parts... he is God in my opinion !!! Jason Newsted vocal abilities were also used during his era in the band, because it was perfect combination with James. The way Jason performed was so spectacular, powerful and amazing. Miss him, respect and will always love him. They were so beautiful. Amazing era.

This is the MetallicA that I miss so much from the early 90's Era! This Iconic MetallicA is the reason I started learning guitar and bought my own ESP Explorer (pre lawsuit) guitar just like the one James is playing in this concert and I had to take out of the case to play along with this concert Gem I found by accident. You can tell there new too this was the first show they did during the black album tour such an amazing sounding kit wished he used it these days Edit let me rephrase what I said technically the tour started in los Angeles on august first of 1991 but he was still using his damage justice tour kit I guess his Artstar ii didn’t arrive yet plus that first show of the tour I believe was a rehearsal getting them prepared for this show which Lars new kit arrived ❤

The Black Album dropped two days later. This is the apex for them! All down hill from here. Glad to see them three times before it took a turn.

The band was superhuman on this tour. This is when James Hetfield solidified the title of Metals Frontman.
