My mother was a hardcore metalhead before she had me, her first child, and this was one of her favourite songs to play on the guitar (she had both electrics and acoustics) and when I was born up until about five years old she would play this on her acoustic as a lullaby for me. As time went on and my siblings came along she had less time to play guitar and hasn’t for years. I can only vaguely remember those nights of my early life but I recall the few occasions afterward she has played it for me again and it has always given me a great sense of comfort. This, however, is the first time I’ve truly understood how much like a lullaby it really is (surprising for a band like Metallica in my opinion) and how baby me was soothed to sleep by it. 100% showing my mother this video. Very nostalgic vibes.

Look at how she plays this piece. She deeply cares about what is coming from her instrument and has produced a truly moving version of Nothing Else Matters. Alas the harp is one of many hard to master. Your luck does not run out however my friend as to be there is multiple types of harps big and small. Go to a music shop and try them out and whichever suits you; You’ll know by heart that one was meant for you.
