Thanks man...I've been following a drum transcription book since I learned to read.... but I know you are anti-reading and more pro-listening. Something I need to do more of. Learning by ear is the way to go, but I'm struggling with it. lol. Also, there's a real lack of sheet music notation available on songs for drums, so it really should all be learned by ear anyways. I'm taking your advice and just trying to learn by ear, but I'm finding most songs have high tempos or crazy stuff I'm unable to breakdown or hear properly. What else besides metallica would you recommend for people to play in their first couple of years??? Thanks dude, you rock. Keep jamming!
