I was 14 at the time and my mom forbid me to go to this concert so I had to have my friends sister pretend to be his mom and say I was spending the night at his house when actually my friends older sister (20) and her boyfriend (21) took us to the show . It was at the Seattle Coliseum, which is currently under renovation and honestly is made to look a lot larger than it actually is in this video, but back then there was so much more of a mystique of going to a concert, especially a hard rock or metal show then now a days. And there was more aquanet hair spray with girls and mullets with guys than I've ever seen, lol. I had to do the same with going to see Ozzy and the "No Rest For The Wicked" tour concert with my mom to go see it. All she knew was he was a satanic Bat eating weirdo, ha. And that was a lot of it in the 80's was there was a lot of talk of satanic bs all wrapped up in heavier music back then. Thanks a lot for this reaction, glad to see youth appreciating it.

I was 13 when I first heard Master of Puppets and it honestly took a few listens before I could appreciate all of its dynamic subtleties. I feel ashamed to be a metalhead when there are people like that who categorize themselves with me. I saw them in 1994, at the Woodstock '94 festival. The lesser known acts, or musicians that were up an coming, such as Live, Sheryl Crow, The Violent Femmes, were all slated for Friday, but the really BIG acts were all slated for Saturday. Nine Inch Nails, Metallica and Aerosmith closed out Saturday night. I was told that you could hear those three acts very clearly from over ten miles away. I still have my ticket stub. It's framed and hangs on my bedroom wall. One of the best experiences of my life!!! Sorry to hear your daughter getting so much heat. She has a right to her opinion, and some music she's going to like, some she's not, and that's perfectly fine. The fact that she's at least willing to try it out and react to it is a great thing. Lots of explaining. I came here to hear Metallica (!!!) Such the best part of all these songs - across all genres - is hearing them first , then doing the detective work afterwards to learn what - if anything - they were actually about. Dylan made a point - as did Bowie - to never get in the way of any fans interpretation of their music by explaining their songs. Music is beauty. What it means to You - Is literally all it means . Blessings to yall - keep on keeping the music alive. 🙏💜
