My day's been a Shitt ass day Hey bro PLZ React to SYSTEM OF A DOWN MIND, Since 2018 I'm suggesting this song, there's no music video, also after the studio version do it the live on: 1997 (Serj sounding amazing in this one) the one on BDO 2002 (Insane), and the one on 2003 (I forgot the name of the stage but its only a cam filming serj from far so its not that worth it tho) my fav is 1997maybe?, idk but in this one the instrumental sounds really weird the quality isnt the best but his vocals are amazing, but the BDO 2002 is amazing too! This year will be 4 years suggesting the same song, its a like a College graduation

James wrote it about his own father. "Harvester of Sorrow" is also about him. "Dyer's Eve", "The God That Failed" and "Mama Said" are about his mother. He grew up in an abusive Christian Scientist household, and had just started to reconcile with his mother before she died of cancer, she refused to seek medical help because of her religion, hence "The God That Failed", which also killed his father, so he really never got a chance to reconcile with either of them, which is touched on in "Until It Sleeps", Fixxxer" and "All Within My Hands".

Metallica still has so many songs you need to hear. Don't remember if you ever finished their first album, if not would highly recommend. Load and ReLoad are also great albums, however I would go into them with an open mind as they don’t follow Metallica's usual sound. Great stuff as always Alex!

@@dustingifford2225 they are but that's because people don't like the different sound. And i kinda get that because they went from thrash to rock type stuff. With death magnetic they kinda went back to their roots. So yeah..... But they are indeed very underrated. Same goes for Death Magnetic and Hardwired. The only thing i personally hate about the last 2 albums is that it sounds like they just sticked some riffs behind each other to make a song longer. Which you can hear very clearly in Halo On Fire so yeah.....but still very good albums 🤘🏻

This album is simply the best album of Metallica since the black album, as well this song is clearly based on "One". The revival that was not even possible of this legendary group is exposed in this piece of Art. I have to mention though that it would have been impossible to rebirth like that without going into the "some kind of monster" phase first.

@@Justice_Hammer Exactly! This is why DM was the only Metallica album I refused to buy as it literally gives me a headache to listen to this song alone. The GH3 versions are what I have listened to since 2008, they are still a little clipped but no where near as badly as this version! That album, DM, is the number 1 reason why with my band's music, I record every bit of it at -4db, then while editing and mixing it I keep it at -4db then after mastering it I boost it to 0db so that NOTHING is clipped. No lost levels of the high end or low end is compromised! DM is their worst album in my opinion just because of how clipped it is. Justice is their second worst album to me for similar reasons, bass guitar is missing. St Anger is their 3rd worst due to the snare tone...lol The songs on DM and Justice are top tier! No complaints there - just the final product was ruined which downgraded the songs too much to be enjoyed as much as their other albums which do not suffer that loss of fidelity and overall sound quality.

I've always been a HUGE Metallica fan!! I love your content of all types and reactions in general. However I had never fully realized the real life stories behind some of these songs or every lyric. So it's been greatly eye opening with this Metallica journey I've joined you on. I have heard several songs from that album but not all of them. Including this one and the other one where he spoke of the abuse he endured from his father. That I had heard before but hadn't pieced together what the actual lyrics were speaking about. In all honesty as much as I love Metallics and your reactions due to my own experiences and history I could hardly finish listening to this. I nearly had to stop the video about half way through. Just hit's to close to home. However I do love when artists use their own experiences to fully bring their craft to life. It makes it so much more relatable and pulls at the heart strings and helps to bring their story to a much more vivid picture painted for us. Music is meant to make you feel something and to me the more an artist can do all those things. Which Metallica is known for really tells you just how talented an artist or band is!! ❤️

Greats songs on this album but coming out of st. Anger continuing to apply abysmal production quality. At this point for me, the bad production adds to a specific charm that this record has.

Hey, I remember when this Album came out... I was in high school and already pretty deep in my love for Metallica. And I specifically remember that this song, also "Broken Beat and Scarred" and "The End of The Line" from this album was good xD The rest... meh.. And I cannot remember them. .3. And also... Metallica is always open to listen to other bands when they need more inspiration :P

This album came out in 2008 and was the first album with Robert as the full-time bassist. (also first one after St. Anger...) They had six single off of it and two hit #1 on the US Rock charts (this is one of them) As noted above, for me this album is up there with Hybrid Theory and Rakshak for replay-ability.

This is the first Metallica song I ever heard. I still remmeber the first time I ever heard it too, my dad was driving me to one of my little league football games. This song not only got me into Metallica and the rest of their discography, but also subsequently turned me into a metal head. Initially I listened exclusively to Metallica and Megadeth, until I discovered testament and realized there were other good bands out there aswell. Now I listen to all sorts of different metal subgenres. Not only did this song just get me into the genre, but the guitar solo was so mind blowing to me that it made me want to learn how to play the guitar, which I still do today even years later! I dont care what people say about death magnetic, I think that it is a masterpiece and it will always have a special place in my heart. This song is definitely structured after One, the slow build up throughout eventually ending in crazy thrashy guitar solos. I dont listen to Metallica much anymore, but I will never forget what they got me into!

Watched this music vid as the original release song for the album with my father in middle school, I believe in 07. It reminds me of more of a one than the thrashier stuff. Of course all nightmare long gets me going so hard but this whole album reminds me of highschool. Playing on repeat loud and proud. 🤘🤘 Rock on my Hefnerds

Got more of a Load sound with this one. I think Bleeding Me when I hear this, which I loved, with a dash of new. Ifell off of listening to them after reload, but I’ll never say these guys weren’t one of the reasons I picked up a guitar. Fade to Black is the one, but not the only. 20 years later (for me), still got it. Thanks James and Kirk. You’ll never know how much you truly meant to all us axe wielders 🤘

My mother told me my Father tossed me off a couch inspite to hurt her, and she told me this when I turned 18 before I met my Father, her leaving him was her best choice, and since I collected this info I have grown to hate him but I'm torn between a safe grown man raised by his Mother and wanting to confront him but yet, yearn for a Father/Son relationship, when I ask him him about he changes the subject, this song relates to me and made me appreciate my mother cause she saved me 33 yrs of potential abuse ❤️
