This tour was my first live Metallica experience in the summer of 1989. We had been following them for a few years at that point and knew all of their songs by heart. They came to Nashville and played this exact set list. We were in the second row, dead center. It was and still is one my favorite memories. They destroyed! We walked out of there with our ears ringing until we got to the car and cranked up more Metallica and began reliving the night. When this concert came out on video, I picked one up right away! I’ve seen them many times since (including the Hardwired tour) and they still bring it every single time!

Metallica ruled, Metallica rules and Metallica will forever rule that World of Music 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘. There will never be another band like Metallica….impossible to gather so much consistent talent for more than 4 decades 🔥🔥. The three songs were “ Harvester of Sorrow”, “ The Four Horsemen” and “ The Thing That Should Not Be”. Rory; you have so many amazing live concerts from the guys to react to 🔥🔥🔥

His speaking voice has a lot of bass actually you can see it in interviews. He just goes higher when talking in the mic in the middle of a concert.

I'm was smiling when you paused it during harvester of sorrow thinking it was over, ivbeen listening to metallica since I was 12 and they never finish a song the fashionable way it's different every time. Also Iv seen them live 7 times and this is always a savage moment at a show

Watch the making of the Black Album…..it’s INCREDIBLE…I think it’s A YEAR AND A HALF IN THE LIFE OF METALLICA, from 90-91…really cool to see them create all of this legendary shit.

18:15, THE THING THAT SHOULD NOT BE…one of my absolute favorites, brutal and heavy as hell…it’s based on H.P. Lovecraft, (Cthulhu)

This was the tour James calmed down live…from 81 to about 88, he was the crazy fuck…and this is unofficial, but I believe he was having neck and back problems creeping in around this time, so he changed his live style

I wouldn't say Lars is a "shitty" drummer, he's simplistic in technique and you'll recognize certain rhythms and fills are similar from song to song. He makes it count for sure.

I learnt my stagecraft as a frontman from watching Jim Morrison wander casually about the stage, and the rest of it from watching Hetfield’s body language and just fucking MALEVOLENT facial expressions during this rendition of ‘The Thing That Should Not Be’. Combine that with generous doses of LSD and Dexedrine and a pint of whisky or rum before a show, and I was like the living embodiment of primordial chaos.

I’d say the early Thrash had more Hardcore punk influences rather than traditional punk…there was a decent amount of crossover at the shows back then….also, can’t wait until Battery…its arguably the best Metal preformance ever!!!

You should watch some interviews with front of house big mick. He always says that Lars wants his drums to be the loudest they can be.

Watching this in the background while Russia retreats from Kherson is just the cherry on the sundae. It’s too bad though you haven’t memorized these songs yet while you watch this concert. C’mon kid, we’re counting on you! 😁

I don't doubt the skill of all the megadeth musicians. but their music doesn't sound anywhere near as good as metallica's. I don't like Dave Mustaine's voice at all, and his songs have no harmony. metallica is hard, fast, pure, aggressive, but it still sounds like a melody, the cohesion of its members is total. Metallica is much better than megadeth. for me there is no comparison

I tried hard to like megadeth. But I can't. For me metallica all the way.

@@kuplung22 Yeah, some songs are fine maybe because they remind of Metallica's style: Angry Again, Trust, Symphony of Destruction, etc... But their thrashier songs are so bland compared to Metallica's. And yes, Dave's voice is just not it. And their arrangements, do they even do arrangement? I don't give a shit about their skill level, music isn't olympics.

MEGADETH, Tornado of Souls, Symphony of Destruction, Hangar 18, In My Darkest Hour(about Cliff Burton). Dave Mustaine was the original lead guitarist of Metallica, then he would get too wasted and punched James in the face….Mustaine is a black belt too…he broke a dudes leg once at a party for fucking with Lars
