Thank you for addressing the finish on the neck! Not enough people do that it is important to me.

Anybody who judges you for enjoying Load or Reload, should grow the F up... they are undeniably, excellent albums.

0:49 Or Japanese Custom shop, which only goes for James' model, there's not public ESP version of the KH-V Neither has SS frets Neither has MoP inlays (ESP Version of James' guitars has though, but that comes with a price to match.) KH inlays are waves

Nice guitars, I love Vs and explorers, but an esp LP is my only best body shape choice. I agree with you about emg pickups, I have esp eclipse with 81 60 set and it sounds good but sterile on heavy metal crunch stuff.

Holy camoli what a fanastic comparison! Love the format and thanks for showing the various sitting positions. Is there any issues for a semi-beginner with the Snakebyte focused on rhythm? Especially the intonation and high action?
@beltalowda78976 ай бұрын
I absolutely love my Snow White Snakebyte. Now that you mention it, the action on it is pretty high. I fell in love with the guitar when I played it at my local shop and the action was so low playing it was so easy
@ts41144 ай бұрын
Would it reduce playability for a beginner?
@beltalowda78974 ай бұрын
@@ts4114 not at all. But I would caution against its price tag for a beginner. It’s not a cheap guitar just to find out one won’t stick to playing. When I went from a high action guitar to the Snakebyte it was like playing a guitar on easy mode. I would be sure I was happy with the explorer shape and weight before splurging on it too.

I have the Snakebyte and the setup was horrible out of the box. Very high action and bad intonation. Also, the toggle switch is shorting out already (only had the guitar about a year). I have to switch it in place multiple times and do it very slowly until it finally activates the pickup I want. Another problem is that the output is diminished significantly sometimes. It's like the active pickups are low on battery but that can't be the issue because it does it after a fresh battery change. It also goes through batteries like crazy (and that' with me unplugging the guitar from the amp every time I get done using it). I have to change my battery about once every 4 months, and I'm not a heavy player. I'm thinking maybe a wiring issue? I also have a few small spots where there is a "lumping" under the finish of the guitar (I have the same Kuiu camo finish as in the video). It's kind of like a bubble in the finish but instead of being rounded it's more like a lump. About the size of an eraser head (although not raised up that high, it's about as thick as a penny). I also lightly bumped the guitar against my amp due to the size of the guitar and odd shape (not being used to the explorer shape) and it took quite a large chunk out of the finish, so it's not very thick or durable. Overall the guitar definitely isn't worth $1800 in my opinion. I do like the Hetfield pickups, and the finish looks great imo. But all those issues I listed combined with the fact that it's virtually impossible for me to play while sitting really make me wish I'd have gone with a different guitar.

I think the KHV sounds better in the mix than the snakebite. It's less abrasive and seems to gel better. I'm not a guitar guy, so I don't know if that's the pickups or what's responsible for that.
@Nickgaming-sy5og6 ай бұрын
I would assume they arr designed that way from the factory as kirk is a lead guitarist so needs his solos heard crystal clear and james needs something that can handle gain
@rocafella1422 ай бұрын
It is. The Het Set pickups are very harsh. Hetfield is the only one who plays them and they sound good, due to his rig. Everyone else sounds better with 81/60 pickups
