I can't believe you didn't toss a Behringer NR300 in the mix. Would have been the cheapest pedal in the bunch and most of their stuff is Boss clones anyway 😂

I like informative videos, but it DRIVES me NUTS to hear "hosts and pros" refer to the OUTPUT jack as an input jack. Input jacks are on amps and pedals. Thanks.

Ok. So I sold my 1960 lead 4x12 and my 5150 head. I was trying to downsize. I bought a 2x12 5150 iconic combo. I quickly realized I made a huge mistake. Returned the combo and now have a different 1960 4x12 and the 5150 iconic head.

Take the two bottom speakers out of the 4x12. Now you don't need an amp stand, you have tight sound dispersion, it's lighter and you still look awesome. Nothing screams no compromise like a Marshall 4x12. Nothing says compromise like a 2x12. Me playing the 1x12 combo while my 4x12 and 2x12 sits at home.

Have read so many comments here in the thread that damn good Stratocasters are (and I like Strats myself) but, just pulling up names from the past (Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour etc.) to point out how good they are only shows how you yourselves live in the past. Fender Stratocasters have their place but they are old in their construction, they have not been updated and cannot compete with today's better guitars. Most people who play a Fender today are sponsored by Fender. Just like many other famous guitarists and bands are sponsored by their brands, but take a look at how many metal bands play a Fender Stratocaster compared to say Ibanez and other modern manufacturers. Stop throwing crap as you are doing it because you are fanboys.

I'm a stratocaster lover, but you make so many good points. I'm absolutely in love with the look of them, but the lack of innovation really does stand out (in terms of specs). Nowadays you can walk through a guitar store and pick up models from other brands in the $300 range, with features that outclass a USA-made Stratocaster. Boggles my mind that they don't even put stainless steel frets on most of them! Feels absolutely terrible laying down $1,000+ on a guitar and seeing the frets oxidize!

oh yeah.... i use a tube amp so i can hear myself through the stage wedges. Genius stuff. A stand for a 2x12 - even worse. 4x12 sound better. If i'm willing to carry it and the gigs i play allow it, then i'm doing it

1. If you never liked Fender.. why do you have quality expectations at all? Expectations are set by experience. 2. You could build it off brand for 1800, but not being a US made Fender as soon as it's built it now has a value of about 500.. where I bought a US Fender, kept it for 10 years and sold it for more than I paid because they hold value. 3. I notice none of the complaints were really based on playability or tone. 4. Yes, everyone wants to copy the strat. I wonder why that is... maybe because it is one of the best rated electric guitars since it came out in 1954. 5. All that said, as a musician I respect your opinion as your own. There are also guitars other people love that I hate playing on. We each have our own styles, and preferences. If we all liked the same thing it would be boring. LOL Play on.. on whatever you like.

I think Strats are the best guitars (from a usability standpoint). The modular nature of the strat makes it a guitar that is potentially whatever you'd like it to be. I currently have five of them (all set up to be slightly different). I bought a First year "Player" from Fender (when they switched the MIM's to Players and put AlnicoV Pups in them), and a 2024 Player Plus (HSS) from Fender. Both are great guitars. I have an el-cheapo Squier Bullet from 2005 (that I put all new Fender Pickups in), and two Strats I've built from Kits. One with SSS configuration, and another with Triple Humbuckers (with individual coil splits and a Gilmore-switch). I personally really like the comfort of the strat body design and I love the output jack location. All that being said, I LOVE my strats, but I 100% agree that if you're looking to get into strats (or strat style guitars) It's kinda foolish to pay Fender Prices for one when you can build an equal quality or even better guitar for cheaper so long as you have some very basic skills in assembly and set-up... The Triple Humbucker strat I built with all the bells and whistles (electronics wise, with high end Alnico splitting Humbuckers and locking tuners) came out to about $500 final price... The only "devil" will be in the set up.

I have owned one of this system and despite he broke one time on stage it was rock solid and always worked very well. Unfortunately I have sold it in 2018 because I wasn't live anymore. Now I am back with a new project and I regret it a bit I have sold it, at the time I was a bit out of money

I see what you are doing here and if you do no more it would be fine. However if you are using it live the potential latency could be massive. At 3ms per round trip the GT1000 gives you 12ms. Probably get away with that if its your entire rig but if you add a wireles, digital desk, and either your in ears or PA cabs with digital processing and you are looking at 24ms. You are going to notice that for sure.

I had a 2x12 first. It doesn't compete with a drum kit. sorry, I had to buy a 4x12. Now I run the 2x12 on the 4x12 both powered by separate amps. and no, for me it isn't about volume. its about where the sound is coming from. drums are closer to my ears than any 2x12 or 1x12. and I'm the vocalist. I'm in the middle of the room

Something worth noting is that any of these hi-freq wireless systems are digital. So if you run all analog pedals into a traditional/ analog guitar amp, your signal is converted to digital and then converted again to analog, before you've heard a note. An interesting scenario for guitarists who are chasing tone...

i haven’t seen anyone ask this question anywhere but it’s paramount in deciding if i get one of these. say i have a horizon apex preamp, which has two foot switches and no midi functionality. could i program any foot switch in the es8 to turn on/off the second foot switch on the pedal? like if i have one foot switch on the pedal active and would like to use its 2nd foot switch.

Thanks for your great review! With other cheap wireless systems I had the issue that the level of my active EMG pickups caused them to limit in a very unpleasing way. combined with a very low dynamic range they were unusable for this guitar (some worked quite fine with active acoustic guitars, however). So, I appreciate the active-pickup-mode and will give them a try.

Has any one got the MD200 to clock from midi? It's a modulation time-based effects box so, it would be good to get the effects to sweep/pulse in time with our music..syncing depth & speed etc.. (isn't that the whole point of having midi on it ...rather than changing patches?) Just wondered if anyone had done it on this box ?
