Kill Em All is the most youthful sounding album they ever made. I am 20 and they make me feel energetic and young despite being an album from 1983.

I always loved this song. Also a little bit of information, the main rift, is somewhat set to the beat of a horse galloping . And the beat that it gives you (The head nodding), at least in my experience, simulates the riding of said horse. So "The Four Horsemen" is certainly a great title. Or I could be reading into things too much.

You gotta check out a live performance next!! That's SURE to get you subs and likes. I recommend Metallica "Disposable Heroes" live in Mexico City, 2009.. You got everything to gain and nothing to lose with that one, trust me!

@@susanconstable2113 yes, that whole show is totally underrated in my opinion. I think the Seattle show is overrated tbh. You should check out " and justice for all" live in montreal. Best live version of that song!

I had also heard other Metallica tunes (One/Master of Puppets etc.) before I heard this one. The thing that impresses me most is how they (mainly James and Cliff) transformed it, compared to the original ("Mechanix" by Dave Mustaine) - from energetic/hectic and puerile (lyrics) to epic. A sign of things to come.
@cristealaurentiu24404 жыл бұрын
There's no "original". It's a song composed together, before they din the right thing kicking out Mustaine.
@keerthichandrac73644 жыл бұрын
It was Lars idea to have slow mid section and Dave played sweet home Alabama jokingly which became the mid section of the song. But the song has one of the best solos by kirk in the mid section. It's sad that you don't get writing credits for solos in Metallica. Solos in Metallica just take the song to another level, especially in first 5 albums.
@danksquid32654 жыл бұрын
@@keerthichandrac7364 Yeah, Lars already knew how to arrange a tune. The middle section is the "epic moment" of this album, something they would explore a lot more on later records. James wrote lyrics transcending the original ones by Mustaine (Dave sure knows how to create riffs - can´t stop listening to tunes like "Wake up dead" and "Holy wars..." - but lyrically James reached another dimension). That solo is one of the reasons I started playing guitar 20 years ago. Kirk has mentioned how he often shared a hotel room with Cliff, sometimes ready to hit the bed but then Cliff would hook up the guitars and they would end up jamming. A writer, think it was Joel McIver, mentioned the fact that Cliff influenced the solos Kirk ended up playing on KEA. I can hear it, especially on this one. Regardless, Kirk kept the spirit alive. Bless all of them, and us, enjoying the timeless music.
